I Ordered a steam mop from shop your way sears and got a great price. I later received a notice the offer was no longer available - out of stock but they do have another offer for my that is 3X the cost. Called Sears and they were sorry that the web site was not updated before my order. Is there anything else they can do?

Sears was so sorry about the this situation that they offered me 10% off another model that I can purchase for less than that in another store. So even at 10% off Sears cost I can still purchase it for less than that. Before you go to sears be sure to shop your prices.

First I apologize for my spelling. Too early and should have put on my glasses. The email I received about the "out of stock notice" was sent on Friday. Today, the next day, I went to the same web site and the same model cleaner is for sale with a price hike from $26.00 to $149.99, more than 4 times the price I ordered it for. Is it likely that the inventory was replenished that quickly and still allow for the time it takes to put their add on the internet that quickly? If they needed to make up for the loss of the &26.00 misprint I suppose it could be done. Another point I want to make is that this item is less expensive on other web sites or in stores As I understand it "Shopyourway Sears is a service that allows it's customers to purchase merchandise form a third party vender at a discounted price while earning poinst that can be used for future purchases. At the price of this item, the points will cost a whole lot more than they are worth. I spoke with the one of the managers at Sears about this and he had nearly the exact response you did. If you are looking for a haan steam mop model FS20 you can find for around $70.00. That is why I thought the 50% to 75% discount was believable. Also I thought Sears was a name you can trust.

Actually there is. But its up to sears if they wish to do it. See the consumer has put too much trust into that little box that sits on the desk and flashes pretty pictures at us. Its just another form of media. As such if your order went in before the web site could be updated is no more or less then going into a store to purchase something and they are out of stock. In this case, if it was a retail enviroment, you COULD ask for a raincheck. If they cant offer you a raincheck, then look elsewhere for a different steam mop.
They CANNOT control how many they sell of any one product. There are too many stores and online shops that pull from thier inventory. As there is normally only a small team to manage the website, they can only make corrections when they are there. This means the website isnt UPDATED on a half hour or hourly basis. So yes it kinda sucks that you cant buy that steam mop at that super cheap price, but they are constrained on thier inventory and can only sell what they have.
