Simms Associates in Newark Delaware Chris Clark Very Rude Newark, Delaware
This collection agency is calling my neighbors and leaving messages at their homes to give to me. When I called them back and requested that this stop and that there had to be some type of law against it, the girl on the phone was most rude and said "Ma'am we know the law". I then was transferred to the agent handling the account, Chris Clark. Again I asked that he not call my neighbors and my work, I also requested a copy of the paperwork showing the debt that is still owed. I told him the debt he was talking about was already taken care of and is over 10 years old, he then started throwing out my mother in law's name and I told him that this was not her concern. He kept yelling at me on the phone saying he was taking this seriously and I should too. I told him I was and that he please mail me the information I was requesting, he claims they have in the past, which I have NEVER received anything from them in regards to this debt. He kept yelling and raising his voice, so I hung up on him. A few minutes later he left a message on my cell phone for my husband, who the debt is under and asked that he please call him back.
I thought by law they are to provide the information on when and where the debt is from. I am not paying anything until I see this from them.
What do we do? I cannot afford a lawyer.
