***I WOULD URGE ANYONE THINKING OF HAVING THEIR CAR OR TRUCK WASHED AT SIMON'S SHINE SHOP TO READ THIS REPORT BEFORE DOING SO***

From the outside, Simon's appears to be a family run business. It has an above par waiting room and the facility on the whole is clean and in good order. This pleasantness, however, is all smoke and mirrors. The gentleman, Jim L., although he is no gentleman at all, that runs and owns Simon's is generally there all day, however he is removed in his upstairs office for the most part. He comes down every so often to either yell at his Spanish labor crew (who are scared to death of him because they don't want to be fired), pretend to help out, or to put on a big smile for his customers so that it appears like he cares. Unfortunately, this could not be further from the truth! How do I know this, you ask? When my car was finished today, they drove it to the side of the building. Upon entering my car (it's an 09 with 3K on it) I noticed there was dirt left on my dash board and glove box, not to mention streaks on my windows and water running down my door jams. Now, I don't know everything, but when you pay 20+ dollars for a car wash, you expect a decent result. I remember when I first came to Simon's, the Mr. L happened to be downstairs. He greated me with a big smile and said that he guaranteed all of his work and that if anyone was ever dissatisfied, he would either rectify the problem or refund there money without delay. Well, after spending the last few months watching this jerk scare the crap out of his staff (he's a hefty guy and around 6'5") and talking to me in a belittling way when I wasn't interested in purchasing additional services like a yearly package and/or a la cart upgrades to my regular wash, the last thing I wanted from him was a problem fix. I simply wanted a refund. Now, this is where the "gentleman's" true colors came out. He politely asked me to step outside claiming he wanted to inspect the shotty work. But, the minute we stepped outside he raised his hand to me and said "Listen to me, you fu**ing little putts, I'm not giving you anything. Either I'll have one of my guys fix it, or you can get the hell out of here." Not Joking here, he really said this to me. He went on to say that I had also been discourteous to his staff. Of course, this could not be further from the truth because I am always beyond nice to them. I always shake their hands when the car is finished and I normally tip between 7-15 dollars -depending on the service-. Anyone that knows about car washes knows this is alot because the average tip is probably around 3 dollars. The fact is, his staff liked me a lot because I was always nice to them a good tip for their work. Anyway, I told him this, to which he replied, "Yeah, well what about "Simon's". In other words, he was saying why don't you give me the tip and forget about my workers. Mr. L went on to say, "Don't tip the workers, they already make enough from me. I pay them ten dollars an hour, that's enough for them." The bottom line is that as soon as Mr. L was faced with the prospect that he was losing my business, he didn't care to keep it anymore. He escorted me outside so that no one could see or hear what he was going to say to me, and then he cursed me off. If you look at the owners face, you can see that he has been through the wringer in his life and it's likely no one ever taught him how to treat people with any kind of respect or decency to begin with. He actually said "I know this is poor customer service" to me after he was done cursing me out. I can't make this stuff up folks. That's why I took all this time to write this report. I don't want to see anyone else finding themselves in this type of situation with Simons.  The bottom line is that the place may look nice, the owner may appear to care and be nice, but if something goes wrong it's their way or the highway, not to mention you might just get cursed out.
