As a former cs rep for capital one, I loved hang ups.... it improved my statistics and kept me employed. I recently got an erroneous charge on a cc for 1500!!! It turns out "fat fingers" was the cause. The merchants employee was unable to scan the card and inverted some numbers which caused my account to be charged $1500. It wasn't the credit card company's fault. And they are deligently trying to get their money. I just had to go thru the dispute procedure just like everyone else, to have it properly removed.
