Do yourself a favor and do not subscribe to Sirius-XM Satellite Radio. I was a loyal subscriber/listener for years and I just recently found out the company had been charging me for double the subscription fee every month. I bought a Stiletto receiver a few years back and after having it a few weeks, I realized I had paid hundreds of dollars for the most useless device on earth! The Stiletto would not work indoors or on a cloudy day. When I returned it, the store assured me the device would be deactivated and it was. The only problem was that Sirius kept charging me a subscription for it!

On top of having some of the worst customer service representatives around, it is obvious that the people at Sirius Satellite Radio dont care about their subscribers. After waiting on hold for hours and asking for a refund, all they did was try and sell me another radio! Absolutely disgraceful! I plan on writing rip off reports, complaints boards and writing to the Better Business Bureau about this at least once a week. I hope that screwing one loyal customer over is worth the P.R. that person can do. Like I said before, do yourself a favor, dont become a subscriber of satellite radio. Any content that you can find there can be found somewhere else on the web.

I sell and install Sirius/XM and agree customer service is frustrating and time consuming. Most calls are handled in India where not only is there a language barrier, but they have never even seen a satellite radio over there since it is only available in the USA and parts of Canada..Sirius XM has no satellites anywhere near India so realistically they do not know how to deal with technical matters other then reading off a generic troubleshooting chart.

But has far as canceling service..anyone can do this online..and that is clearly stated in any literature from Sirius XM...and on their websites..a mere click away. Of course if you do not cancel..or think you canceled and did not, they will continue to provide service since guess what?...that is how they make money.

Now where your report seems strange, is that you state you purchased a Stiletto a few years back..but claim it was useless after a few weeks? Why did you not return it and cancel after those few weeks? why wait years and then complain? And how come you claim you were "doubled billed", it seems you only had one unit activated. There is a procedure for canceling the subscription..which is done online. If you were continued to be billed and not have service this makes no sense..you obviously had service or they would not bill you. The "store" can not deactivate anything..ALL service with Sirius XM is done through Sirius XM..the store has nothing to do with the service so this makes no sense..it is not a reasonable complaint..perhaps you need to ask this "store" how they can deactivate your account with Sirius XM, and if they claim they did..why were you still being billed?

By the way, of course the stiletto will not work indoors..unless where you are indoors they have a satellite radio repeater. This is why the Stiletto has a record feature..so you can use it indoors. You see satellite radio is not like AM/FM where the signal is all over..satellite radio is "line of sight"..which means if the radio antenna does not have a clear view to the sky..where the satellites are located..then of course you will not pick up a signal. Cloud coverage of course can have an effect on reception but that is the nature of digital satellite radio, there is nothing that Sirius/XM can do to change physics and every single one of the millions and millions of satisfied Sirius XM customers are subject to the same exact technology and it's limitations, as well as benefits such as over 130 channels of commercial free music, sports, comedy, news, talk and other entertainment..as well as being able to pick up the stations anywhere they drive in the USA without losing range such as with conventional radio..and this is what have been paying a staggering 43 cents a day for if you break it down .
