Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

What follows is my opinion. I encourage others to do due diligence in investigating Sitejabber/GGL Projects, Inc. and other companies.

Please also note that this website has a history of making major changes, without notice, so some of the information in this review may not be accurate a few minutes from now.

This will be relatively short as I think the Sitejabber site speaks for itself as its less-than-responsible owners have been forced to make changes as a result of serious harrasssment/cyberstsalking issues that occurred on their site because they didn't want to bother moderating it. I have evidene, that I can post if there's a rebuttal, proving that these guys knew that people were being harrassed online to the point where one of them feared for her safety and they did nothing about it except indicate, "we'll try to fix the problem when we can." That seems to be their standard response to criticism of any kind.

Nor do they sign e-mails sent to support personally. The e-mails are signed by the, "The Sitejabber Team" even though Sitejabber is not a legal entity and serious business people should be comfortable signing their e-mails, especially if they've created something with public money, as these guys have.

The Big Problem: Your Tax Dollars Were Used to Give a Bunch of Ivy League Graduates Seed Money to Create a Worthless Site

The big problem with Sitejabber is that it's a useless unmoderated bulletin board that was created in part with public money. The second biggest problem is that although the wording in the fine print changed as a result of someone threatening to report Sitejabber/GGL Projects, Inc./Jeremy Gin (supposed founder) to the National Science Foundation's fraud department for misrepresenting its/their relationship with the NSF, Jeremy Gin and his business partners are still leading people to believe that they're financed by a government grant as opposed to relying on money from Adsense ads and who knows what else. The copyright statement, which is posted in about font 5 on the bottom of the page, references GGL Projects, Inc.

In no other place on the site, such as the About page, do these guys acknolwedge that they're a corporate entity and Sitejabber is just a name they use. They go out of their way to make you think you're supporting Science or some type of non-profit by posting on their site because they once got a National Science Foundation grant.

Apparently, the three guys who own this site  got a small grant from the NSF around 2009. I'd have more details if they hadn't refused to comment on their relationship with the NSF in e-mail correspondence and the message I sent to their NSF project manager hadn't bounced.

This enabled them to tell the world they were supported by a grant unlike all the other review sites that are supported by businesses in some capacity. They don't appear to be supported by the NSF anymore and it looks like they were always primarily a for-profit entity.

They fooled me and wasted my time. I wouldn't have gone near Sitejabber if I thought my reviews were going to be Adsense fodder as supposed to part of a serious research project sponsored by the NSF.

Lots of Other Issues With Sitejabber

They erase reviews/comments at will despite claiming they don't believe in doing that. They also refuse to give out the name of the person responsible for accepting legal correspondence even though that information is public knowledge if people know where to look.

If anyone needs to send legal correspondence to Sitejabber/GGL Projects, Inc. the contact person is as follows according to the website of the Secretary of State of California:

Jeremy Gin

169 11th St.

San Francisco, CA 94103

Yes, their FAQ page tries to convince you that there's no point in suing them. You should ignore those statements, in my opinion.

I recommend steering clear of Sitejabber and posting reviews on a serious site instead.
