Sky’s The Limit Equestrian- Sara Spiller Awful place to keep a horse Caroline Alberta
My mom had given Sara a horse for free which she said she would train. She offered my horse back for $350 as she said that’s the amount of work that she had put into him which is a lie. She also said my horse was lame and that either I bought him back or she would sell him at auction. She doesn’t know a thing about horse injuries. My horse is not lame or arthritic in any way. She left him in a pasture without even tending to his swollen knee. And it was obviously swollen. She had texted me asking for money because I was late in payment (never said anything prior) and her money had been stolen in Calgary. She tried to keep my horse until I paid her even though my horse was really not in her care. My horse showed obvious signs of being uncomfortable (showing the whites of his eyes and tossing his head around) when I left to go home. So I had him moved. When the person went to go and move him, they were told that my horse was aggressive!!! I don’t think she would know an aggressive horse to save her life! The only thing Sara did was put weight on my horse and left him with an unattended swollen knee. Absolutely no training was done since he doesn’t even lunge. She doesn’t seem to know that the Livestock act has absolutely nothing to do with boarding, and threatened me with her "mom filling me in since she’s a criminal court worker and would be more than happy to fill me in since I seem to be so uninformed.” Needless to say, I’m glad my horse is no longer in her care and is getting proper treatment now.
Do not ever take a horse to her. She doesn’t train horses and doesn’t care for them properly unless she’s trying to make money off of the horse. Very unknowledgeable. I wouldn’t ever recommend Sky’s The Limit Equestrian or Sara to anyone from my experience with her. Just awful.
