Mattress retailer 'Sleepy's' sold me a twin memory foam set on Oct 6 2013, as well as pillow and mattress cover - (both overpriced) The salesperson advised me I could return any of these items within 21 days - I tried the mattress for a week and could not sleep on it but about two hours and would have to move to the sofa. I hated the pillow - never opened the mattress cover.
I called the salesperson and explained. She then advised I had 30 days to return it and suggested I try a bit longer- She said if I did return it there would be a 140.00 disposal fee--a new twist--In the meantime I returned the pad and pillow- They would not take the pillow as it was opened - (how do you try it without opening?) They reluctantly took the pad. I mentioned I would probably prefer the innerspring type mattress - she said those were going to be more expensive. My reply was I thought the one I bought was as expensive as I could go. still no mention of having to exchange.
After trying to make this work another two weeks I paid someone to load it in my van to return it. The person I spoke to ( a different person from the original salesperson), said they would exchange it -after charging the disposal fee - but not refund my money. The word ' exchange' never passed the original sales person's lips. Oh, and he also said it was a 21 day return limit, not 30. After all this I am stuck with a matress I can't sleep on and my bank account is minus 650.00. Sleepy's is definitely asleep when it comes to customer service and the truth. Once again Buyer Beware.
