Bad thing is that I am not the only victim here. I was married to a driver that was leased to them in 1998. I traveled with him up until I also got my license. Things were fine for the first week then it went down hill fast, no checks, crappy paying loads, pushed to run over hours because of the bad dispatching and then it happened. Early in the am on Dec 18th, 1998 My husband and I survived a head on accident with a drunk driver north of Kirksville, Missouri.

When we returned to Kansas City we sat down with Scott and he "was handling the legal end of the accident and the company attorney would also be working for us" Right, shortly after we returned to the road , the lease was terminated, Ledar got a big settlement and what did we get NOTHING!

To add to the misery, after I was divorced I was looking for a job and came across SLX and called. I drove to Kansas City, checked into the hotel and went to orintation that Monday. boy was I shocked to find out that SLX had originally been Ledar.

Now, I wanted to leave but, I had spent what I had to get there, so like a foo; I said to myself "Maybe they changed" I should have walked out the door. I was promised a Peterbilt, ended up with a junk freightliner, "but it was only temporary" I was told a few weeks and one would be ready. never happened I was stuck in the white beast until the day I had enough.

No pay, oh wait one paycheck. for $25.00 and never one after that. Having to live on thier $25.00 Monday, Wednesday and Friday advances. Eat, Tolls and scale on $30.00 every other day.

It has always proven to be a challenge because I was a female running solo but you know all because I am a female does not mean to treat me like a w***e or white trash and that is exactly how I was treated, statements were made to other drivers about me by various staff members. Cheap loads were always given to me and enough was enough when I was told by night dispatch that I had to sleep at the reciever and I was not allowed to go eat and take a shower that night even though I was not scheduled for delivery until 11 am the following morning. That did, I passed the reciever, and went to a hotel, got a room, cleaned out my truck and then proceeded to the office where I had a cab waiting. I walked in, handed the dispatcher my keys, bills and fuel card and walked away. I never felt better in my life.

So to those who have been there or are thinking of going there, find something else. it's not worth the discrimation, endless lack of sleep and the lack of pay.
