To everyone who is considerering using small animal delivery service please take this seriously!! this was so upsetting, my local vetrinarian looked at Duke and gave me factual information that he had not had any food or water for at least 12 to 18 hours if not longer.

When i recieved Duke i sat him down in the yard to sign paper work that i had recieved him and he fell down on the ground he was trying to walk and couldnt he made it about 5 feet falling down 3 times, when i questioned small animal delivery they said he just needed to adapt to me, i was given the run around about his condition they had no answers and wanted to leave as quickly as possible.

Duke was to arrive at my home sunday at noon and did not arrive until monday at 5:OO PM. Norman koelmel didnt make it to me sunday because he told me he drove to New York and Pennsylvania and was stuck in traffic and weather. The kennel that I purchased Duke from was never aware of him taking Duke to these states, he was in the van from thursday evening until monday at 5:OO PM.

Please think about Duke and the abuse he went through in the hands of this small animal delivery service, Look for a caring service that truly cares about the animals wellfare.

Pup Arrived in Great Condition ~ Norm is One of the Best!

#2Consumer Comment

Wed, September 12, 2012

"Pup arrived in great condition, healthy, and very happy!"  These are the comments that come back from our cowdog owners time and time again as we have used Norm, Michelle and the crew since 2006 to transport dogs across country and on the west coast. They have done a wonderful job for us hauling young dogs, kittens to go to Switzerland, and even a rare turtle. They work hard keeping in constant touch as much as they can. It's really our jobs though to contact them as they are DRIVING and looking out for the welfare of our valuable animal. Do people realize what a task it is driving animals across country? Not one of you have probably ever attempted it. That's why you hired a hauler.

They answer their phone at all hours. I've awakened Norm up accidentally and he's always jovial. He does a great job of fine-tuning the schedule to accommodate people and come in within a VERY reasonable time frame. Again how many of you have traveled across country? In order to be on time he has to sleep in passenger side while other driver takes over so you can get your animal within a reasonable window of time. For the complaint about a 24 delay, you'd be hard-pressed to come in even close after crossing so many states, putting up with construction, weather hazards, etc. etc.

There is an incubation period for most illnesses, so to blame a decent person who is not getting rich at his job, for your poor management is very despicable.

The main thing with Norm and the crew~ they LOVE your animals. Norm and Michelle run their vans a little differently, but bottom line is, they love your animals. What foolish business owner would damage his resources? A fool would do the things you have claimed and would be flat out of business.

Remember they have much more to deal with when traveling with the various needs of each animal.

Flying with a pup has it real downsides. When they put ice in a pup's water bowl as his main source of water and that is supposed to tie him over in flight. Then while his plane is laid over and he is sandwiched between cargo albeit air conditioned cargo on the best airlines he has no water and no one can help him. Think about it. What is more harmful? It's not a very comforting experience for a pup. I watched one of mine leave for Florida years ago. He cried as they pushed him amongst all the tall cargo boxes where we could see him no more.

Norm will continue to have our business and we will continue to meet the needs of owners that are replacing their older dogs. We have never had one complaint. All reponses from new owners were grateful, appreciative and generous. We've had clients offer Norm to dinner and to stay for a rest.

For those of you reading this and needing a hauler, go to U-Ship and read the 100+ positive, grateful short letters written in behalf of Norm, Michelle and crew before you make your decision.

These people are upset because we delivered a day late. There was nothing wrong with the pup. We delivered at 5pm and they took the pup to the vet at 7am, 14 hours later. I know this because i recieved a copy of the vet report. They say the vet said  the pup had not had any water for 12-18 hours they must not have given him any food or water after I delivered him. Duke was offered water and food the entire trip.He did not eat the first 2 days but did start on day 3.We found out later that the breeder drugged their dogs before they left. This explains why we had problems getting him to eat or drink the first 2 days. The breeder had 97 dogs confiscated from her and was found guilty of felony animal abuse. We are happy Duke was given a clean bill of health from your vet and hopefully you like him as much as we did.
