Smartemarket fraudulent charge made to credit card Internet
When I logged onto my bank account this morning, I found a charge for $4.95 to smartemarket.com, located in Louisiana. Apparently they sell some sort of e-books that can be downloaded in .pdf format for small fees. Needless to say, I didn't make this transaction and called my bank immediately. They quickly refunded my money and blocked my card, and when I asked if the card was swiped or the number hand-keyed, they said that the number had been entered by hand. I have no idea how they got my number, let alone the security code, my zip code, and expiration date - beware of this company!
