Smartsavings.com charged my credit card for 10 months for $14.95 and never notified me Boca Raton Florida
I had purcharsed a DVD online for my wife as a birthday present. the website stated that the shipping was free and I received the dvd. Little that I know that I had automatically enroll myself to a company called smartsavings and they charged me $14.95 every month on the credit card I used to purchase the DVD. It did not come to my attention until I received a call from my bank asking if it was ok to renew the charge for the next year. At that point, I found out who they were. I cancelled the subscription. called smartsavings and requested my money back, since I did not know I was enrolled in their program or even used their services. I ended up speaking to the manager by the name of Brian Garcia, who said they will return my money and they will only refund 2 months worth. I then had my attorney send a letter to request the funds back. several weeks later, Brian called me back saying he wants my account information to refund my money. However, after giving him all the info. He said he remembered me now and said he was only going to refund 2 months worth.
I reported them to the ftc and also here. I dont believe I am going to get my money back from them, but I wanted to report it here so every one know what they are doing.
