Using a debit card, or giving your bank account info for automatic withdrawal, for online transactions is too dangerous to be worth it. With a credit card, at least it's not your actual bank account. You can get over the limit fees and all, but it's NOT your actual cash on hand at risk. If you want to dispute the charge on a CREDIT CARD, you don't have to pay the amount in dispute, until the dispute is resolved NOT in your favor, if that's the result. Resolving disputes that involve your bank account are a lot harder, because you need that cash, immediately. If there's anything but 100% cooperation from the vendor and your bank, it's most likely going to take awhile to get the cash back in your account, which leads to further problems. If you can't get a credit card for online purchase use only, I just wouldn't buy online until you can get one. Putting your cash at risk like this is too dangerous.
