Smith-masterson property development & Management Countrywiderentals.com Bogus! "Smith Masterson" is hitting people all across the Craig's List Universe Internet
This scammer is surprisingly believable. BEWARE Smith Masterson is completly bogus. This person is using custom taylored emails to get people seeking housing on craigs list to believe that he is offering free rent for good people willing to be property managers. Of course, the sad thing is that this guy can change his name any time he wants. Just always beware of this kind of thing. No one is going to request a credit report before they talk to you on the phone!
Here is the email I got:
Hi, I saw your ad titled: Nice couple looking for home for Jan. I think I have what you are looking for in houston. My business is looking for a manager on one of our developments. This entails keeping an eye on the place and contacting our main office when any maintenance is required. In return for helping us with this, the property is available with no rent for the duration of your stay. The details of the property are on our site; when I get to the office I have the floorplan and some extra shots that I will upload. You can see this property at:
