Smiths Landing or Norm & Karen Rosenbrock Found more water than we needed at Smith's Landing on Wixom Lake ! Beaverton Michigan
A day of fun on Wixom lake shure takes a sudden turn for the worse after your gas tank is filled with water. The fact that you drove an hour to get there usually doesn't cross your mind until you realise what really happened and what you thought was just bad luck and a fouled plug turns into having the fuel system drained and the hidden damage that running water through an engine causes in the overall life of the engine! Then you call the business and they call you a liar like you would put water in your own boat, and to what proffit to me!! NONE! However the profit to them was huge as other boaters were leaving with the same issues. Have you ever tried to dock a boat that keeps stalling? If you have, you will understand the danger that this places consumers and their families in! The Owners at Smith's Landing are discpicable!!

I am writing this rebuttal in regard to the above complaint about "water in gas." My family and I have been campers/boaters at Smith's Landing in excess of 5 years. At no time have we ever had any problems with the gas, which we exclusively use "Smith's Landing" to fill our boat.
Furthermore, the staff (family) at Smith's Landing has never been anything less than helpful. They have gone out of their way to help the customers of Wixom Lake. I have witnessed them on numerous occassions tow boats in, help those with issues with their boats, campers, etc. This is a family run business that treats everyone as their own family.
It is sad to me that one would "assume" that the issues they have are a direct result of the last purchase they made and not give it a thought that they probably did not fill up without a spec of gas in their boat. Reports like these can cause damage to one's reputation and business that it has taken years to build.
While your situation was unfortunate, I stand firm that we have never had an issue with the gas at Smith's Landing. This campground/store/gas station comes highly recommended by me and my family.

we had people getting gas from us for years and never had a problem you called the state they came out and test for water and there was no water in the gas so if you want to keep running your mouth come talk to me I'll be at the campground sincerely, Lewis [email protected]
