In April of 2015 I purchased 21 Emerald Green Arborvitae plants from So Much More Landsacping in addition to other landscaping work which totaled $3695.00. I had used this landscaper the year before and was pleased with the work .(Note: Both work invoices were pain in full in a timely manner, totalling $4595.00).
When I asked about plant warranties, I was very SURPRISED when the owner told me I had to PURCHASE plant warranties. I have worked with several landscapers previously and NEVER had to purchase a plant warranty. The usual and customary practice in the industry is to warrant a plant for one year.
In the Spring of 2016, I notified the owner that four (4) of my arborvitae had perished over the winter. The arbor vitae were replaced.
Imagine my SURPRISE when I received an invoice for labor to replace those plants. That charge pf $125.00 was NEVER divluged by the owner in any fashion.
I was never given a copy of the plant warranty nor advised that there would be additional charges for labor if a plant were not to survive.
I sent both an email and a letter to the owner expressing my dissatisfaction and requesting a credit, stating that the fee is not a usual or customary business practice. I keep meticulous records and have copies of all correspondence.
No response from the owner, only MORE invoices. NOW I am being harassed by a collection agency and my credit rating is being threatened.
I will NEVER recommend this landscaper to anyone and tell the reading audience to BEWARE of his business practices.
Not only have I been RIPPED OFF, I am now being THREATENED and HARRASSED because of non-disclosure and poor bsiness practices of this business. Have consumers NO RIGHTS???
