Complaint Review: Solace Day Spa - Alexandria Virginia

On Jan 25 @1pm, I had a color appointment with Mandy - Solace day spa in Alexandria. At our consultation I
asked her about the price and we agreed to $185 color+ $20 blow dry and a free shine/ brilliance treatment. This was my first time doing my hair there.

I told Mandy that a month ago I went from blonde to red and that I need color on my roots through the entire length of my hair. At that time, my hair color was washed out, what is to be expected with red hair. I showed her the color I want and she was confident she can do it. She proceeded to bleach my hair even
though I told her I don't want to bleach, my hair is fragile.  She insiste I'll be fine and to stop freaking out! After bleach, she applied color for 30 mins, put me under the heater then washed my hair. At that point, my hair color was terrible!  Different shades from yellow to orange and blood red were all over my head. I showed her a picture of my hair from a month ago, which was even and beautiful! She told me that she can do that, not to worry, so se re-applied color again leaving it for another 30mins.

After washing out my hair, at this time top of my hair, especially on the left side completely broke off and it
looks like I have a long hair with short haircut at the top!!!! I was shocked!!!! Color was uneven and disgusting, roots in the back were black, it was a mess! I told her that she just destroyed my hair and its nothing even close what I asked for. She said I came in with breakage and she didn't do it, and as far as color, that's what I asked for. Then she starts brushing my wet, broken hair so aggressively that my hair was falling in lumps and it was painful!  I told her to stop that, so she stars flat ironing my still wet hair!!!! It was steaming and falling all over me. At that point, she just wanted me out of there! I asked her why she didn't apply any treatment as she said she did but my hair didnt take it"! She also said they don't do much of the red hair in salon so she didn't had everything she needed but she put an order in and that I should of ask my original hairdresser for a formula she used if I wanted the same color!  She took me to a front desk and told me I owe her a whole upon agreed amount, and that's a half of the price because she had to process my hair twice!!! I told her my hair is ruined and I have to wear a hat until the top grows back on which she replied: you came in with the hat on, so don't even try". I was in total disbelief and shock shaking
uncontrollable at that point. Girl at the reception said they can give me 20% off but I have to pay.  I told Mandy I understand she spent her time working on me but she didn't do a good job, she was rolling her eyes on me and start being loud. I called my husband to come to salon.  When he saw me, he got very upset saying that my hair is completely ruined and that we're not paying anything.  I said I wanted to give some money but not what they want me to pay. He said NO and to have manager call us ASAP (she was not in and couldn't be reached!)

They said if we leave they are going to call the police, he gave them our information and we left. 30 mins later police called us saying we have to come back and pay or I would be arrested!!!!!

I was devastated! My husband said he will go back and at that time manager was in. He told her that Mandy completely ruined my hair and we can pay 50% off, she said she's sorry but we still have to pay for a product (color, bleach, shampoo and water) and charged us $145! 

She didn't give him a real receipt but wrote on the piece of paper what was done and the amount they're charging.
