Visited sonic on Sunday 9-26-04. Ordered a jr double cheeseburger w/only ket. & mus. Brought out single burger. Made them aware of mistake. Brought me single patty w/let.,tom.,mayo. Politely made them aware again and repeated exactly what I wanted. They then brought me a huge double w/ let.,tom.,mayo. 4th time messed it up again.

I finally asked to speak to manager. She then told me that she took my order and heard me change my mind 4 different times. I told her that never happened and (still polite) asked for some compensation. She told me that I was being Irate and for me to get the hell off the lot or she was calling the cops. Not once did I raise my voice or got as mad as I should have been. I also found on the website there is no way to comment/complain. So this was my only option

Ticket Times

#2UPDATE Employee

Sat, December 19, 2009

The times on the tickets actually ARE accurate due to the following fact: The ticket time printed on a receipt from ANY Sonic Drive-In is the time that the order was entered into the system, not the time the order was prepared, bagged, clock-out, or delivered. The setup of the sales system does not allow for the changing of which times is printed - it will ALWAYS be the time the ordered items were totaled out and entered into the ticket system, without exception.

As for the original report-

I apologize for a misrepresentation of our brand and good-name. I hate to have to say it, but Sonic does employee personnel, more often than not, that become irate towards a guest which has done no wrong or had a bad attitude. The general stance of Sonic is to fix problems that are created by us or by the guests at no additional expense or trouble of the guests. Most of us realize that our customers are the people who are kind enough to visit with us and pay our wages. Also, I hate that you didn't find that we do have an 800 number which is used to voice your comments, concerns and complaints. That number is quite easy: 1-866-OK-SONIC. The call is free from any phone and most times it's also worth your time. I'm very sorry you have encountered one of our more poor locations and encourage you to visit a location in the future and not let this horrid excuse for a manager turn you off to a great experience!

Time Means Nothing

The printed time on your receipt from Sonic actually means nothing. Sonic employees routinely clock tickets out early to keep their wait time low.

You could be wrong

#4UPDATE EX-employee responds

Sun, September 25, 2005

I've worked at Sonic for almost 3 years. And the story you tell sounds very familiar. Many times i've heard or have taken part in that complaint. There's customers who will change there mind 4 times. Keep calling back, etc. And than when you confront them on it when the order is wrong, they look at you like you have 2 heads on your shoulder with the response, i didn't change my order. My next favirote i'm sure will be posted is. I've been waiting here for 20 minutes! When in reality it was 5. Are tickets show the time it took to get out. Well actually i'm not currently a Sonic employee anymore. I have a complaint of my own to file. One that's valid tho.
