Southern Pines Apartments, Southern Pines My kitchen ceiling caved in from water and mold. Management knew and refuse to do anything for nearly 5 months Jacksonville, Florida
When the black stain showed up on my kitchen ceiling I called and told the office. When the stain doubled in size 2 weeks later I called and told the office. When the ceiling started bending down a month later, I called the office and the maintenance staff who once again said they would look into it. When the ceiling caved in a month later and flooded my kitchen and dining room, I called again. When they didn't show up the next day, I collected all of the dry wall and debris and discarded it myself. Every time it rained, my kitchen flooded. In north Florida it rains almost daily. After several months of calls and emails I finally called the city and they sent out an city housing official who deemed that portion of the house was unlivable. He forced Southern Pines to fix it. When I asked for discounted rent as compensation, they said there was nothing that would justify it. After appealing with the corporate office, the same verdict was handed down. After almost 5 months of cleaning up flood after flood, littered with fiberglass insulation mush, we were told to buzz off. Don't give this apartment a second thought. You could have a better experience, but why risk it? We moved to Wimberly Apartments at Deerwood on Gate Parkway and loved it! Best of luck to you.
