They recently devised to increase overdraft fees to increase profits. Instead of just correcting your limit to zero, which requires one push of a button, they let you overdraw, without, and if you have no knowledge. They stole 400 dollars from my account using this scheme. Obviously, I closed my account, but be cautious to be on the ball and play the game, even if you may not win against these investment bankers. F*** you Soverign Bank!

MY Fiance closed her account at sovereign owing them no money. Months later they claim she owes them over $800 in fees. Apparently they didn't close the account and charged her for the monthly service fee and overdraft charges for that fee!

First...learn what you are talking about before you talk about it.  There's a difference between INVESTMENT BANKERS and banks!

Like all the other whiners, you aren't keeping written records...you keep using and using and using an ATM card...WITHOUT...keeping any records or...WITHOUT...knowing what your exact balance is.  Then, when YOU overdraft the account, YOU charge yourself an NSF fee and of course, its the bank's fault!

So go ahead, go to another bank and continue in this senseless habit and run up more NSF charges and blame still another bank.  Then like the other whiners, "its a big conspiracy between the big banks to get the little guy!"

Don't waste your energy writing back to blast me.  Use that energy to CORRECT THIS PROBLEM, once and for all.  The only way to do that is to KEEP A WRITTEN record of each and every transaction and foreign ATM fee so that YOU KNOW the balance at any time!  Not only that, go to the bank's ATM, get out all the money you'll need for the week so that you minimize foreign ATM fees and bookkeeping.

Its all up to you.  What's it going to be?  The responsible thing of keeping track of your account or keep using the ATM card without written records, rack up NSF charges and blame the bank?  Its all up to you.  Its time to be an adult or be a child.  The choice is yours.

They Stole from me Also, they took 600.00 out of my account. This bank sucks. The use their own employees to harrass you on the internet and try to intimidate you if you say anything about them. Im glad I deal with a different bank. Wont be banking at Soverign Anytime soon....

Did you overdraft your account? How could you not know that you overdrafted your account? When you opened the account, did you sign a document saying that you agree to the banks terms & conditions? Did the terms & conditions say that you will be charged a fee for every transaction that results in a negative balance? How does charging you fees that were a result of your actions (and that you agreed to) constitute "stealing"?
