Spa-Quest Spa-Quest Took My Money And My Vacation to Mexico..Shame on you New York New York
I searched the internet for months and months to find a travel agent that worked with the El Dorado Maroma Resort in Mexico. In Feb of 2009 I found and contacted a travel Agency named Spa-Quest located in New York City. My sales contact was John a pleasant man and he furnished me a quote.
I booked my trip the following week and gave John my credit card and a deposit.
I had a lot of contact with John in the next few months(our trip was in May)
The deposit was double what he told me,he forgot to give me a special discount that he promised. There were countless emails back and forth. He told me he was a sales associate at Spa Quest ,when I called there to complain about him I was told John the sales manager,I should have know then.
Next comes the Swine Flu,he assured me Mexico was fine and he mentioned I would loose a one night's stay if I canceled. He asked me to hang on for a few weeks. After a few weeks we decided to go. I called him about 3 weeks before my I was to take off to paradise and I asked about vouchers for me trip,he really had nothing to say except remember we talked about credit card protection???
On May 11th,12th,13,and 14th I left messages for John. (A week before my trip)
On May 15th I got a email from him stating he was no longer with Spa Quest and he mentioned the "credit card protection again" I then tried all the contact numbers and the Webb Site all gone.
I panicked and called the Hotel in Mexico they had my reservation but no money from Spa Quest.....And no trip for me. this was my birthday gift.
I have filed complaints with the FBI,Better business Bureau, The Attorney General's Office (in NYC and my home state) and all the TV and radio stations in NYC and I encourage anyone else that was scammed by these people to do so too.
I am also working with my credit card on a Dispute. I was hoping to go to paradise, but I had a trip to hell...
