Don't let SMC rip you off with their "top of the line" websites at $1,000.00+. And don't let E-Merchant take advantage of you either (that's the merchant account company for SMC). You will end up paying around $1500.00 for a useless website no one will visit! If you must have a SMC website and feel websites are intimidating, I offer free assistance in setting up your store front website. You can buy the needed software for about $25.00, a domain name for $15.00 and use Paypal for your "merchant" account. I can even find you quality web hosting for less than SMC's $24.00 per month package. Talk about a rip off! The only difference between setting up your own web store and using SMC is that SMC claims to link to their "in stock" database. Is that really worth $1000.00 plus? I'm a former SMC dealer and I got ripped off. I consider it an honor to take $1,000s from SMC and saving any SMC member hundreds to assist in any way I can. I am a computer tech and a web designer (I have refernece sites). I do all this for free and I do not sell the software so I make no money in this deal. The software can be purchased on ebay but you will need a qualified hosting package depending on the program you use.(asp, cgi, php hosting). Unlike SMC, my doors are always open. SMC owes me over $1500.00. It is my personal goal to cost them 10 times what they ripped off from me (and more if I can).

Hi kathleen! If you allready have the catalouge, you don't have to go through them to sell the products. As I said on a previous post, there are better ways to sell. There are even sites that sell smc products drop shipped, and it is 50.00 a year for the program. Alternative=order product from catalouge and sell it yourself online! Contact me if you need any help with this ps, I don't work for them or anything, just upset at your situation. I have my own online shop, so i may be able to help a bit.

I have to ask everyone that has put a ripoff report on this company one question. I have been thinking about starting a business with this company. I have made my first payment. I am reading all these things that they did or didn't do. Most of which you are saying they didn't do. In fine print on just about everything they send you is that they do not guarantee your success, the first thing to do is read the fine print. But the big question is if this company is so bad then why have they been in business so long??? They haven't been run out yet. So if these things you are saying are true then do something to put them out of business legally. Not just take a few dollars out of them for getting just a few people not to take the chance on them.

Kathleen,
I hope you paid everything by credit card. Contact your credit card company immediately and file fraud complaints on each and every debit they made to your credit card. Have the credit card company charge them back.
It's too bad you didn't state where you lived because I would like to have directed you to a pro-bono attorney--that's an attorney who works for free.
Good Luck
