I have had several bad experiences with this airline and credit card.  Each time they’ve hit me with fees that weren’t expected.  This most recent time I called in to inquire about using my credit card miles.  After giving the customer service rep the information I told them I wanted a couple of days to think about it. She told me that it would be wise to go ahead and reserve it to hold it and if I chose to cancel it as long as I did so 7 days before the flight it would not be a problem.  I confirmed by that she meant it wouldn’t cost anything and she affirmed that.  So 5 days later I called back to cancel (A full month before the scheduled flight) and was told not only would I not get back the original $40.00 that I was charged for using my miles (there’s no such thing as free at this airline) but that I would be charged a $125.00 cancelation fee and an additional charge on top of that.  Needless to say I reiterated my previous conversation, I asked for the recording of the phone call to be pulled, I asked for a manager and all I received was a robotic reiteration of their terms, and was told they could do nothing.  This was so unreasonable and there was just something odd about the way they were speaking so I asked if they were in India.  No, they were in the Philippines.  So what we have here is a customer service department that can do nothing to make sure the customer is treated fairly.  Just cheap labor following tactics to make this company more money while ripping off the consumer.  I will never again use this airline or their credit card.
