My mother used a suitcase for the first time on Spirit. They damaged it and it could not be used. Arriving at midnight at Las Vegas airport,she was told Spirit was closed. When I complained to Spirit they said she only had 4 hours to report it. Weeks later I was offered a voucher.. Hello! A flight voucher cannot carry my mother's belongings to the plane! The suitcase cost more than the Voucher was worth. 

That same night she learned her sister was dying. I spent all night trying to get her ticket rebooked. The Phillipines personnel could only be reached through a travel agency. They only read from scripts and after hours of being on hold was not helpful. Their automated prompts do not get you to a live person. Needless to say I booked with another airline. (Southwest was great!!)

No help for my mother who is elderly and travelling alone. They even charge you to put luggage overhead now. Doesn't the luggage bin come with the airplane seat? Wow! I won't ever use them again and I will be working for a travel agency soon! I'll never book them for my mother. They are not nice to grandmothers!!
