Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

One day without notice they just shut off my company account on a Thursday, day before payday. They said my business was fraudulent.. excuse me?!? We work 10 times harder than you do, we make an honest living can you honestly say that?!? When you try and contact them, they won't give you the code to call. They blocked me from Facebook cause I was ruining their future business, stealing from others. Special place in hell for companies like this!! Be careful and cautious. Read the fine print. They will ileagally hold your money for their gain. The coward owner also owns twitter and sits in the board of all places... Disney world. Be cautious. Read everything. Merchants account at your local bank would be better than this company ripping you off.

Square Is Not A Real Merchant Account

This is not a defense of Square or their somewhat misleading advertising.  They make it sound so easy to use their service and for many businesses it can be, however if one day you have trouble with Square, you will find customer service is pretty much nonexistence.

It is important to understand the risk associated with processing credit card cards (which includes Square). I represent several ISO’s which is the prospective I can bring to this discussion. A cardholder can dispute a transaction with the card issuer as far back as 12 to 18 months after a card is used for a transaction.  When a dispute occurs, there is a debit to the merchant account or Square Account while the dispute is researched.  If the merchant / business doesn’t have the funds to cover the debit, the amount comes out of processor pocket.   In many ways, a merchant account is like a line of credit.  A traditional credit card processor will underwrite an account on the front end to establish a ceiling of how much a business can accept safely to support the risk.  Square does not do this on the front end, but will manage the risk on the back end.  Therefore, many businesses using Square have experienced what has described here.

On the other hand, if you want to avoid this, seek a true merchant account, not one thru Square. We provide services and ongoing relationship to be there for a business when the need arises.

I hope this helps. Ray at Tampa Bay Merchant Services

So what type of business are you in that they would think you were fradulent?

How long have you been with them and perhaps something that is very telling how many Chargebacks have you had?

Did they ever ask you for certain documents that you refused to send?
