I was rear ended while sitting at a red light by a client of Star Casualty on Sept 16, their client never called in a claim even though my insurance company has her on record stating she would, and she was at fault. I tired to call them on Sept 18 to find out about the claim and was advised the client needed to call it in, that they would call me as soon as she did. Sept 20th and still no call, so I called, and the client had not called in the claim, so they opened one ONLY because I kept calling as well as my insurance company calling. They finally got the ball rolling, and I got a letter from them dated Sept 19, well if the claim was not opened until Sept 20, how could they send me a letter on Sept 19? My neighbors minor child was in the car with me as well, and Carlos the claim adjuster tried to get me to agree what the child would accept, with out ever talking to the childs parents. I gave him the parents information and they spoke one, I have known this family for 13 years, and I knew everytime she called, as well as her calling in front of me and leaving messages. Three months go by, they never call her, I finally got a hold of Carlos and he lied saying my neighbor never called nor left messages until I explained she did so in front of me. I have gotten paperwork from then with my name, their clients name spelled incorrectly as well as other errors on the paperwork. They had to have an individual claim adjustor come to do an estimate n my car stating they had no offices in our area, but according to their web site there are many offices for STAR in my area. They didn't get the check to me for my damages until the end of October, after sending me a waiver to sign that had many clerical errors on it. They waited until after I sent it back and corrected the errors (my name THEIR clients name) and they told me they had to send me another cause I wrote on it, I explained I was correcting errors made by their company, only after a few phone calls did they offer to email me a corrected version to sign & return, and it still took me another week to get my check for my car damages. Alex Mavilla dealt with my damages to my car. It was the end of October before I got any monies for my car. Carlos torres was my bodily claim adjustor, and he started off by offering the minor child and I $300 a peice, then $500 for me, only after I refused the first offer, and then $800 after my therapy. NONE of these offers covered my out of pocket expenses. I had to stop therapy due to the fact I was pregnant, and my lawyer dropped me. They will only offer me the EXACT amount of my out of ppocket expenses even though I have proved to them I have incurred injuries. I sent them the police report, all bills for medications, therapies, dr's and everything. They refused to take my calls for weeks, nor answer my emails even after telling me they would get back to me the latest this past MOnday. They hide behine their vice mails, tell you lies of just how busy they are, lie telling you that you never called, treat you like a second class citizen. I only got this monies for my out of pocket today, after I called and emailed everyday. I told them I am refusing to sign any paperwork or waivers, and that even if I cash the check that does not mean I agree to the monies as a fianl settlement or agreemeont. I am not closing anything with them. They told me to wait until after my child is born (in July) and then get a letter of permanacy, that to me seems like insurance fraud.
this is a shady scam of a business, avoid them like the plague. Today has been three months after the accident and I sitll have no settle ment with them. And everyone you speak to at the company treats you rudely, like they are doing you a favor by talking to you, and they are all rude.
