Star Haven Farms Grass Fed Beef claimed their meat was tender. Beef is tough & veiny as rags even the new york&ribeyes Bedias, Texas
I was really excited to purchase my first 1/8 (about 88lbs including bones) of a Cow of Grass fed Beef from Starhaven Farms. I gave my deposit of $100.00 in April expecting my beef at the end of May 2010. I didnt receive it until July. I had to drive to the place they butchered it at which was about 110 miles round trip. When I arrived to pick up my beef I found that that their was 41 pounds of ground beef, 22 lbs of various cuts and about 25 lbs of bones. I was never told that 2/3 of the order would be ground. The slaughter house for the beef was not very clean and the bathrooms were like skid row. You need be careful when you buy directly from any cattle ranch. Dont buy from any company that doesnt have a meat inspector like Starhaven. Buy one steak or roast to make sure the meat is aged correctly. Not a Wham Bam Thank You mam company like Starhaven Farms that really doesnt know about quality.
