Complaint Review: StellAdoraChi's Stella And Frank Smith - Plymouth North Carolina

 I told Stella C. Smith I have forgiven her for all the hurtful, mean unkind things she said and did to me and  her dishonesty, and I would pray for her.  Because Christianity is not about what you do, but Who (Jesus) you know, and Who you know will change what you do!  And a true Christian's promise's will not be like a rope of sand.  And we are to Love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us.  So I have Forgiven Stella and Frank Smith. 

I respect your opinions as well, and do not want to get into an argument over this. I am very sorry to hear about your puppy, as my two chihuahuas are like family to me as well. My point is this: There is NO SUCH THING as a "teacup", "Micro", or any other "special" type of chihuahua. No respectable breeder advertises that their litters are teeny tiny and guaranteed to weigh under two pounds at maturity. A chihuahua is already the smallest dog breed...why would you want a dog that tiny, who will more than likely have major health issues?

I respect the opinions of Socrates and Sylver. But uniqueness usually has a higher price then ordinary, whether it be in animal's, vehicle's, clothing, homes, food, etc. etc. Even people who are more talented then other's get payed higher ($) buck's, because their talent is unique not ordinary. This old world is full of diversity and varity. To some people a dog is just a dog, and they wouldn't spend more then a price of a bullet, if their animal got sick or injured. But to others a dog is their buddy, their friend, their heart and they would spend thousand's to save their dog's life, if injured or sick. If you look up micro pocket or teacup puppy breeders on the net, you will find breeders who do sell their tiny puppies from $2,500.-$12,000. Exquisite puppies sell their darling micro tiny puppies from $5,000.-$12,000. Plus I have seen several other sites that have sold tiny puppies for $4,000.-$6,000. Yes! to some people unique (pocket) puppies are very special if healthy. I did own a little unique 2 lb. chihuahua for many years, who passed away in the Spring of 2008. And I was truly hoping to have another unique 24/7 (pocket) buddy again. So I had saved my money to do so. I do realize that there are a lot of people who would never spend that kind of money for a dog, but in turn, their are a lot who would. All people spend money on their desires, from smoking to fancy sports cars, etc. Some people would only pay $500.for a horse, while other's will pay thousands for a horse. There is a varity of prices for everything sold in this world. And yes! There are a lot of buyers out there willing to pay the differance in the price ranges.

it is completely disgusting that: A.) You would pay $3,500 for a puppy B.) You would describe your new puppy as a "true pocket puppy", like it's some kind of accessory C.) That this breeder would, in any way, guarantee that the puppy would be 2 lbs at maturity. That's like a doctor or nurse guaranteeing that your new baby will be skinny, or 6' tall. When I bought my chihuahua ($350) the breeder distinctly said to me "she's in range to be around 4lbs, but I can't, and won't, guarantee size (and she also showed me the parents)". I respected that. Sorry, after reading that first bit of info, I kind of lost respect for the entire plight.

They can't admit that they sold me a very genetically sick suffering puppy for $3,500.US, because that would make them look like ignorant, incompetent AKC- chihuahua breeders which they obviously are, along with being dishonest and untrustworthy. Stella Smith lied in her rebuttal. She was sent proof what happen to Chloe(Jitterbug). Just think of being born with out your skull being connected to your neck vertabrae. And only your muscles and spinal cord supporting the weight of your head as it grew. You would have severe headaches, tremendous physical pain, numbness and paralyzation. That was Jitterbug's short life. Jitterbug's(Chloe) diagnosis: Atlantoaxial instability C1-C2 severe congenital abnormality and severe hydrocephalus another congenital abnormality. In the x-ray's on youtube you will see that Jitterbug's neck is bowed and goes up the back of her skull, rather then connecting straight into her skull from her spine. Only her spinal cord bent into her skull, with only her neck muscle's holding her skull (head) on. As she grew and her head got bigger and heavier, the weight and pressure on her spinal cord was painfully paralyzing her. Stella and Frank Smith told me they would NOT of euthanized her. Which would of been sheer torcher and inhumane to of done to Jitterbug(Chloe). But I still sent them the x-ray's, vet's report, and youtube video and picture's of her deseased. And told them they could have an autopsy done up here, if they needed further information, since it was illegal in Canada to ship a dead animal across the border. Email from Stella: proved she didn't have a replacement puppy, and again she offered me a refund. Date: Wed, 15 Apr 2009 20:53:17 -0400 "And I was not trying to push a puppy on you as I do not have one at this moment that I could push on you. But a tiny can always bring majic into your life, that is why I offered you the refund rather than just telling you when I get one please let me know which one you want. I thought maybe you could go ahead and find one to help you." Stella's contract says: I will provide you with a healthy replacement or a cash refund if another dog is not available. Which in the email above she admitted she did not have. I've never dealt with someone like Stella Smith who's word means absolutely nothing. Here is another email that Stella wrote me before I got Jitterbug(Chloe). She wrote it because she knew I was leary of buying on the internet. Boy! Did she ever fool me about what kind of person she was. And she was exactly the kind of dishonest person I was trying not to deal with or run in to on the internet. Email from Stella Smith Jan. 21, 2009 4:13:04 PM ................I do not know your beliefs, but I will let you know that I am a GOD FEARING WOMAN............I do not use GOD as a sales pitch, GOD sends me the perfect parents to my babies and I am greatful. ( Boy! that sales pitch fooled me big time!) Here's another email from Stella to me about internet selling, Date: Jan. 28, 2009 3:51:14 PM ............. It is such a great way to reach out around the world and let potential puppy owners chose what they want. And when one person has no morals and willing to do whatever they can at no concerns to the feelings of the person that chose that pup with their heart it is enough to lose faith in every other person you cross............ ( Again Stella did not live by her own words, but destroyed my trust and heart in dealing with someone on the internet.) When Stella told me, she was a good honest person and a knowledgable breeder of 17 yrs. and her mother for 35 yrs. I trusted her, and fell for her lies hook, line, and sinker. Stella Smith reeled my heart in, telling me how well Chloe(Jitterbug) was doing, how beautiful and cute she was. "She's a little doll baby chi", "She truely is just a beautiful baby Diana. She is the prettiest chi here right now :) The way she looks a me is just too much." "She is doing so good. She is so tiny but she has so much personality. I no without a doubt you are going to be tickled when you do get her." ......."She's so pretty, but honestly she is so much cuter in person........I had 39 emails just for her today."... (Just to mention a few of her comment's to me about Jitterbug). I was also emailed many picture's of my sweet Jitterbug. Which made my heart absolutley fall in love with her, even before I met her adorable sweet little personality. And all that time, I didn't realize I was being conned. Email from Stella sent, Jan. 29/09 'There are too many years backed up with me and my mother that I have never met a vet with the knowlege of a tiny as we are. A honest vet would tell you the truth. I know more of what I do with Chi's because of years with Chi's only.' WHAT KNOWLEDGE? Even the stars who think they got themselves a tiny chihuahua do not have a Chloe :) I wonder if they have ever actually seen a true tiny"......................And if my vet finds something new when she is checked I will contact you immediatly........ So Chloe is special."................... When Stella changed her mind after promising me a refund (many times) and said, I only get another puppy, it was truly unfair and dishonest. Because that makes all her puppy's worth $3,500.US, when they truly are not worth that. Plus I could be waiting for years for another tiny female chihuahua to be born, and then the puppy's health would be an issue too. Which was unfair! I did promise you another puppy if it was 15 years down the road if anything ever happened to Chloe,............stella Stella had even promised me a refund many times. THEREFORE YOU ARE ENTITLED TO NOTHING because you think you are above the law, I do not think that you are)..thank you frank smith ( Shipping a animal corpse or a sick/dying puppy cross the US/Canadian border is illegal. Stella and Frank were told that!) So to STEAL my money Stella and Frank Smith have hidden behind their contract and insisted that I broke it. Because I would not do an illegal act and ship Jitterbug back across the US/Canadian border dead or alive (sick/dying). Plus it would of been inhumane. It would of been torcher to Jitterbug. Stella and Frank Smith expected me to do this illegal act and inhumane act, to get my money back. In the x-ray's on youtube you will see that Jitterbug's neck is bowed and goes up the back of her skull, rather then connecting straight into her skull from her spine. Only her spinal cord bent into her skull, with only her neck muscle's holding her skull (head) on. I am continuing to show how much Stella and Frank Smith lied to me. After Jitterbug was put to sleep on Apr. 14/09 Here's two more emails from Stella Smith saying I was going to get a refund: Stella's email, Date: Wed, 15 Apr 2009 16:08:54 -0400 I am sorry what has happened to Chloe, that is why I did offer a refund although I did tell you I would replace her if anything happened to her up to a year.................... I feel you may find one sooner and would rather have another breeder just from this mishap. But I just thought I would offer that option to you, and therefore will refund you Stella's email, Date: Wed, 15 Apr 2009 16:08:54 -0400 ............. " I will refund your money from my husbands and my personal account so you will not have to wait until the 9th. I don't like to tie our money into my "doggie" fund, but being that I don't have the amount in there and I don't want to have to make you wait I will go ahead and send you a check or I can get a Cashier's check. Either way you feel safer, I will do so." Again Frank Smith didn't like the fact that his wife was going to do right towards me, and refund my money. Frank emailed on April 16/09, "My wife is one silly chick. she should abide by her contract being that she was not contacted as the contract read and informed with the information." After Frank Smith's April 16/09 email, Stella went back on her word to give us a refund. After several email's saying she would. Which I found very confusing and hurtful. It was then the email's started getting demanding, very unfair, and accusing. Stella's email, Date: Wed, 15 Apr 2009 08:47:26 -0400 Hi Brandy (my daughter) -------------------------- I hate to ask you, but I will need a copy of the report from the vet, as I do file taxes and to write her off on next years taxes I will need proof of why I refunded for the records. "I am not going to ask for her body back, just a statement from the vet that found her illness on his letterhead." The next day on 16 Apr 2009 this is the email I got which contradicted Apr.15th email, where Stella said she was not going to ask for Jitterbugs body back. Frank's email to me, "If I pay someone $3500 for a puppy and have it a month, then I will have common sense that if my contract does not tell me that I will get a refund and if my breeder offered me one and there was a condition to return the puppy for autopsy then you best believe I would have sent it back, sent it back also if it was required to get another puppy." So in order for us to recieve our $3,500 back, they required us to illegally ship her corpse across the US/Canadian border. Even though Stella said in the email on Apr.15, she was not going to ask for Jitterbug's body back and all she needed was a statement from the vet that found her illness on his letterhead. The contract does say I get a refund if there is no puppy avaliable WHICH THERE WAS NOT. So that wasn't the truth saying the contract doesn't say that. In a email dated Jan. 22,2009 6:00:08 PM Stella wrote, "She's just my miracle girl. I have not had a female in 5 years, I had one last summer that did not make it through the night. So Chloe (Jitterbug) is special." So another good reason I preferred a refund. Because I could be waiting years to get another tiny "special" female as she called Chloe aka Jitterbug. Then it would be like playing Russian roulette, waiting to see if the puppy was born healthy. Stella's really not being fair to me about this and I truly feel in my heart she knows it. Stella's email; "I do want you to know that we are going to have our vet contact your vet so we can get more understanding to her condition, as I don't want to create another sick baby. I wish I would have kept her a little longer and had her x-rayed before you had to go through this." Which never happened. To this day her vet has never contacted our vet, nor has Stella the "concerned breeder" contacted are vet either. And she COULD of had Chloe(Jitterbug) x-rayed, especially when she was observing changes in her. Stella saw signs of potential genetic health issues that were left unexamined by her vet. Which Stella claiming to be a knowlegable, responsible and long time AKC Chihuahua breeder, should of had checked out. Before releasing the puppy to me the buyer. Most responsible good dog breeders do have x-rays done to their puppies to rule out any genetic defects. Especially when there is already outward signs of a deformity. Chloe (Jitterbug) had only 3 prominant toes on her front left foot). In her rip off rebuttal she said, "Looking at the puppy, CHLOE.... someone could have dropped her or stepped on her foot. Hard to say truely what happened to this puppy." Big lie! they knew better. Stella was sent x-ray's, and vet's report. And the x-ray's clearly showed the Atlantoaxial instability C1-C2 congenital abnormality. But after Chloe aka Jitterbug was put to sleep, Stella said in a email: Date: Wed, 15 Apr 2009 16:08:54 -0400 ......... "I wish I would have kept her a little longer and had her xrayed before you had to go through this." Stella COULD OF had her x-rayed before I recieved Chloe(Jitterbug), but her excuse is she was to small. But rodent's and little bird's can be x-rayed, so no Jitterbug wasn't to small. It is like she moves her front two legs too close together when she walks sometimes. If Stella was so concerned as a breeder then why didn't she take Chloe(Jitterbug) to a vet? I'm not a vet or do I claim to know more then a vet, like Stella does. I live thousands of miles away and she wanted me to see through a short video what she was seeing as a knowledgable breeder every moment of the day with Chloe(Jitterbug). And now she wants to blame me for her incompetence as a breeder. Not fair! But NOW (hind sight) I now see what Stella was seeing, it was nerve damage taking place in Chloe(Jitterbug) and Stella never had it checked out by her vet. (Atlantoaxial instability C1-C2) I honestly didn't know when I took Jitterbug to the vet in Kelowna that day, (which was a half hour away from Westbank), that I would not be coming home with her alive. I thought what ever was wrong with her, it would be an easy fix. All I knew was with every oz. she gained she was walking less and she wasn't using her left leg. The vet said she needed to x-ray her. She then showed me Jitterbug's x-ray's, and said I'm so sorry, Diana. There's nothing that can be done. And that Jitterbug will suffer a slow paralyzing death. And that the only humane thing for Jitterbug was euthanization. With my heart breaking, I held Jitterbug for awhile to say goodbye, to tell her she wouldn't be hurting any more, and how much I loved her. This email is from Frank, Date: Sat, 25 Apr 2009 15:24:55 -0400 .............IF A PROBLEM IS FOUND, YOU THE BUYER MUST NOTIFY ME WITHIN THE TIME PERIOD ABOVE AND BRING THE DOG, PAPERS AND SIGNED STATEMENT FROM THE LICENSED VETERINARIAN TO ME STATING WHY THE PUPPY IS A POOR HEALTH RISK.(you put the dog to sleep and never contacted us at all when you were told as she grew she would suffer, this was our option, sorry Diana if you disagree YOU signed the contract that you DID agree) IF WITHIN THE YEAR A GENETIC PROBLEM IS DISCOVERED TO PUT THE PUP AT RISK OF NOT LIVING A NORMAL LIFE, AND YOU ARE NOT HAPPY, YOU AGREE TO RETURN THE PUPPY FOR AN EXCHANGE OF THE NEXT AVAIALBLE PUPPY THAT YOU MAY WANT. (YOU did not return the puppy, you had her put to sleep. THEREFORE YOU ARE ENTITLED TO NOTHING because you think you are above the law, I do not think that you are) You breeched this contract if that is even Chloe that you are saying is dead. We would have told you NO, do not put her to sleep. That is our option NOT yours being that you feel you want something from us, you should have abided by the contract. Frank had wrote this email even when we informed them in earlier email's what our vet said, "No veterinarin could LEGALLY give me a health certificate to fly a sick or dying puppy across the US/Canadian border. It would of been inhumane to Jitterbug to even of done so! And it is also illegal to ship a dead animal corpse across the border too, it could mean a jail sentence we were told. But Frank didn't care that living in Canada we could not do what is contract was asking. They proved to me that a piece of paper mean't more to them then my heart or Jitterbug did. It gave them a unfair excuse to steal our money. It even made it more unfair when Stella WAS aware as a breeder that Chloe(Jitterbug) had problems before she sold her to me. But Stella never cared enough for Chloe(Jitterbug) to have her fully checked over and x-rayed. But has made excuses that she was to small, but rodent's and little bird's get x-rayed, so no Jitterbug wasn't to small. We even dug Chloe up and sent picture's to them to prove it was her with her deformed foot. We even suggested that if they needed a autopsy done to prove more, that when they contacted our vet, they could ask her about doing one. We would then dig Chloe up and take her in for them, to have it done. But they just got mad and said, no one tells them what they have to do. They have never contacted our vet about anything to do with Jitterbug, even when they were sent the digital images of her x-rays and vet's report." And as far as me ever wanting another puppy from Stella and Frank Smith, I feel like I would have to be insane to ever deal with these people again. They are truly two faced. Stella is now advertising June 2009, short legged Chihuahua puppies on her wedsite. So I asked my vet about short legged Chihuahua puppies. My vet informed me that it could be a sign of dwarfism which could led to health issue's in the puppies. No I wouldn't want to chance another puppy from Stella Smith. I can't believe she thinks that all of her puppies are worth $3,500. and so I'm just to pick a new one. Frank and Stella truly proved to me in the end, that it wasn't Chloe(Jitterbug) or me that they cared about. It was only the money they wanted. It was so hard being told one thing, and then the opposite the next day. It was like dealing with a bipolar personalities. It was so confusing, and it really hurt, because I truly trusted Stella at the time. Truly a BIG MISTAKE! Infact I trusted Stella so much at first, that my husband and I total strangers to the Smith's family. Donated $1,000.US, (which cost us more in Canadian dollars because of the exchange rate), towards Stella's young nephew's up coming surgery, which she informed me about in email's. Stella told me if we told people what we did for her nephew, then it truly wasn't from our hearts. But I don't care anymore what Stella Smith says, because all she ever did was lie to me. Frank Smith even throw our kindness toward their nephew back at us, and said we only did it for a tax deduction. I have to admit, that would of been nice if we could of, but in Canada a personal gift like that can not be used as a tax deduction. It truly was strictly from our hearts and still is, and I hope and pray the surgery is a success for their nephew. My husband and I have realized through all this terrible heartache and loss, that Stella and Frank Smith are truly people with absolutely NO heart or intigrity.

I've done this rip off report hoping to save just one person from getting hurt like I was, from Stella and Frank Smith. My husband and I figured out our expenses and costs getting Jitterbug (our extra tiny Chihuahua puppy) from Stella and Frank Smith. It cost us over $10,000.+ Canadian dollars, only to lose her 4 weeks later from congenital abnormalities. We flew into Raliegh, NC, from BC, Canada to pick up our puppy. Stella had the puppy delivered to the airport, she never showed. My husband and I were very disappointed, we really thought Stella was going to come and meet us. Before we left Canada we even tried to see if we could pick up our puppy at her home in Plymonth, NC. But she kept making excuses that it was 3 hours out of our way. We said that we didn't mind traveling 3 hrs. it would be fun, because we had never seen North Carolina before. But she still insisted no, she was delivering the puppy to the airport. So we've never met. I've read now where if a breeder doesn't allow you to come to their home to met the puppy's parent's that's a red flag, and if the breeder doesn't meet the buyers of their puppy that's another red flag. Live and learn, the hard way! When she informed me that she would of never put Jitterbug to sleep, even if all she did was lay there paralyzed. I then knew that I had rescued Jitterbug from a slow painful death in the hand's of Stella Smith. And that truly made our finincial loss rescuing Jitterbug worth every penny. Here are some email's to show how Stella Smith started to be understanding and compassionate to me, and said she would refund our money, until her husband got involved, then the tables turned and the false accusation's and lies started, about me, my daughter and the vet's diagnosis. That is so very sad and something that I did not want you to have to go through. I will refund your money for her if you do not want to wait for another one to come. That way if you see another pup that you may want before I get one, that would be your option...............totally up to you Diana, you hold the decision as to what you want. When Frank got involved, Stella went back on her word to me and refused to refund my money, when she said she would. But I thought it was just her little foot." It was at this point all the mean accusing email's started from Frank and Stella. It was like a snow ball effect, they got larger with more lies and false accusations about me, my daughter and the vet's. Stella has been making false accusation's about the vet's video on youtube even, when she wasn't even there. But as a " concerned breeder" to this day, she has never tried to contacted our vet, because she really doesn't care. Stella is claiming that we knew 4 wks. previous to Jitterbug being euthanized that she had hydrocephalus. This was not diagnosed until the day Jitterbug was put to sleep. It was also this day that her severe genetic defects were found and diagnosed from x-ray's. This diagnosis was not from a young inexperianced vet. Infact the diagnosis was made by two very experienced veterinarian's with over 40 years practice experience between them. Both vet's stated that the only humane thing to do, was to put Jitterbug to sleep. Because all she was doing was dying a slow painful paralyzing death. At that point they allowed me to hold her for 20 minutes to say goodbye. When I took Jitterbug to the vet, all I knew was that she wasn't acting right, I had know idea I wasn't going to be going home with her alive. Stella has falsely accused me and lied about me. And I'm the one that's been hurt and lost. And Stella also lied about having a tiny female puppy at that time to replace Jitterbug, she did not. After all the lies and false accusations, only a insane person would continue to deal with such a breeder as Stella Smith. Stella Smith is lying throw her teeth to the public in her rebuttal to my rip-off report. None of what she has said is the truth, God is my witness on that. I know I won't get my money back from her, but I'm trying to protect other consumers from getting hurt by this chihuhua breeder, who does not have a degree in veterinarian medicine. But seems to think she knows more then the vet's, and says the vet's are wrong. Stella sold me a very genetically sick puppy for $3,500.US, and I feel now she knew from the start, she was, but it was all about the money. Stella has lied over and over to me, and broke her own puppy contract with me. Her contract says that if there was no other puppy avaliable I get a refund and there was no puppy avaliable. I HAVE NO DOUBT!" I was the loser in this heartache. I lost my sweet Jitterbug and my $3,500.US. While Stella won and wants everyone to think her hands are clean and she is so innocent. Stella didn't care about Jitterbug or me, it was all about the $3,500. But I now realize I rescued Jitterbug from Stella's ignorance and inhumanness and it was worth the money. Jitterbug is now in God's loving arm's and not suffering anymore. I have vet's report, plus x-ray's to prove Jitterbug's diagnosis. My heart knows now, from all the ugly things that Stella and Frank have falsely accused me of and the vet, that I truly rescued my sweet Jitterbug from their evil heart's. Diana has been offered a replacement puppy, even though her vet told her when she took the puppy in that the puppy had Hydrocephalus. Diana was to contact me within 48 hours if there was a problem with the puppy and she never did. Although my vet saw this puppy 3 times and the vet and myself did not feel she had hydrocephalus. The fact is, the video that Diana posted has now been replaced with music as I recorded the orginal video she placed on youtube for future purposes. She found out CHLOE was sick from her vet and never notified me as she should have if what she wanted was a refund. Her vet states clearly that she knew she had hydrocephalus when she first seen her.....Diana then realized herself by not notifying me of the puppy being found to be sick by her vet, that our contract was void. The puppy could have been returned and she would have got a refund. She never contacted me, and then 4 weeks later she calls to tell me that she put her to sleep. Another breech of our contract, she was to notify me before deciding to put her to sleep. Looking at the puppy, CHLOE.... someone could have dropped her or stepped on her foot. Hard to say truely what happened to this puppy. But even BEFORE she posted this video and AFTER she posted this video Diana was offered a replacement puppy and she has demanded a refund the entire time although she did not under any circumstances abide by our contract. There was a puppy available, Diana said her heart was so shattered that she was not ready right now. So I did tell her whenever she was ready to let me know and I would let her know what I have available before I let others know. Chloe was doing well when she left here and it is in my belief something happened to Chloe. So very hard to tell with all the lies Diana has come about with. I have got so many emails, down to her needing the money back because her son in law got laid off from his job and she was going to pay their land payments with the refund. Even with all that she has put me through, I would offer her a replacement puppy. And that is above fair to a person who believes she is above doing things the proper way and feels she can just get away with it because she is Diana. Accusing me of being a backyard breeder and a puppymill.............when I have under 20 adults 6 being males!!! Yet whenever I get another hate email, I always tell her she is welcome to receive another puppy when she is ready. HOWEVER at this particular time after all that she has done to me, Diana has threatened me numerous times to take me to court, so I will let the judge decide if the contract Diana signed was something she should have abided by or not. And then I will let the judge tell me if Diana should receive a refund especially when she did not contact me when her vet told her Chloe had Hydrocephalus. Which was four weeks before Chloe was put to sleep.

This breeder is AKC registered. Yoou should have received the registration paperwork on your puppy. If this breeder is selling puppies with genetic problems I would go to the AKC website and inform them of this. The AKC is very strict on the quality of dogs registered and bred.
