This is a phony barter exchange that only seeks to get your personal banking and credit information behind the facade of legitimate barter exchange.  Within 30 days of joining MBE my credit card was maxxed out and my checking account hit with identity theft. I had to spend over $10,000 to clear my name. I was then told by the police in New Jersey that this gang has been prosecuted and fined many times but they keep operating from various offices and never publish their address. They use an 800 number that is always call-forwarded. See these links for proof they have been doing this since 2006:

I was told that I am one of just several hundred people whose identity was stolen after signing up with Merchants Barter Exchange by the police. I find it incredible that their "successful business started in 2003" cannot publish an office address on their web site nor provide a non-toll-free telephone number that can be traced. I spoke with J. Niggeman in Lancaster who told me it took his lawyer and private investogator more than 3 months just to find Steve Bolles to serve him his law suit. According to corporate records, MBE has changed their official address six times in the last two years. There is also a "Steve Robert Bolles" wanted in Maine and Connecticut for Insurance and Bank Fraud, but I have no way to prove this is the same guy. I originally heard of this company from a radio talk show, but when I complained to the radio station manager, I was told the radio talk show was really an advertisement that was scripted by MBE. His wife Marti and Steve both profess to be "born again Christians" but this is now clearly a ruse to disarm people. Why this man is allowed to scam people for 4 years remains a mystery to me and I now wonder who he may be related to!  Niggeman said that Bolles lives in a multi-million dollar home near Tannersville, Pa, but since the house is not in his name, victims have no way to get legal recourse. I think this Bolles character studied under Bernie Madoff.  Super slick shyster for sure!
