Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Contractor subcontracted to person who also subtracted without our knowledge until first day of work. Had no references on either .

Did not remove all of existing floor. Did not apply thinset under wonderboard. Used a limited number of hammered in nails to secure wonderboard.  We were told as many as 50 screws per board would be used.  This method of installation of wonderboard voided the manufacturer's guarantee.

The entire floor is uneven and five tiles were so off that they had to be replaced before the work was finished.

The contract called for sealant to be incorporated in the grout.  However, on the last day, the contractor personally tried to spray a sealant on the grout. The solution was too thick to spray, so he poured it on and then went around each tile with a sponge.  He never rinsed the sponge. So we now have 141 - 12 inch tiles in our kitchen, breakfast room, and laundry room with a shiny sealant frame around a matte finish tile.

There is a stepup from the kitchen to the breakfast room.  The tile here fell off  9 days after instillation.  They had put thinset directly to the wood paneling without removing paneling or putting up wonderboard. They would have fallen off sooner, but a piece of wood was holding them in place.

Because of information we receive from professional sources during the installation, and the work we had seen done, we requested a warranty from the contractor which he begrudgingly gave, but never honored.  He kept stating it was a perfect job.  We just wanted reassurance.

In August of 2009 we were advised to test for hollow tiles.  14 were found.  In May, 2010, more than 60 were found

After a year, we were forced to seek legal action.  We could not find an "expert witness".  Everyone told us that they were afraid of losing business.  Without an expert, documentation that would have won our case was not permitted to be used.

This guy is free to pull this scam again.

Dear Willards and all,

Your job was performed and competed as if it was my own house! What you have posted about the workmanship of your job is nothing but fictitious statements, let me remind you and tell all that your suit against me in Shelby County at the Columbiana Court house was presented by my lawyer as being the defendant of your claims of not being done correctly in which we provided all information to you and the courts. Along with that, prior before the court date our lawyers physically walked through your house months later as to see your completed job as it was when we finished and received payment from you, both Lawyers said they found nothing wrong with your complaint filed. However this suit was given judgement to the defendant Steven Crim within the courts of Shelby County in which the suit was filed. Should the Willards or anyone needing more info please contact the Law office of Jonathan Gathings Birmingham Al.

Hollow Tiles? How are Ceramic Tiles hollow? How are they tested? All material was picked out and paid for by the Willards.

In closing, not never once did we ask for money up front nor during the job and went above and beyond in making the Willards happy, giving a 5 year warranty on normal wear and tear is unheard of in the performed job, I did honor that request with all paperwork being notarized and signed. I believe the Willards were out to get something for nothing as their boisterous act in court and out of court.
