Stop 'n' Save Liquors #7, C W Brower Inc Refused to refund. Modesto California
I purchased a Super Plus Lotto ticket from this establishment. I won a dollar, so I took it in to redeem it. Instead of being given the dollar, I was given another lotto ticket. I didn't want another lotto ticket; I wanted the dollar, and I told the clerk this. The clerk told me that the ticket purchase had already gone thru and couldn't be refunded. At this point, I went home.
I looked up the California Lottery regulations on their website and found the section that said that the Super Plus Lotto tickets could be refunded if the had been purchased by mistake and were returned to the retailer on the same day that they were purchased before the pool closes. I printed out the section and returned to the establishment.
I showed the clerk the section of the regulations that concerned my issue. She refused to read the paragraph of about four lines and told me that I could come back tomorrow to talk to her supervisor about it. I emphasized the line that stated that the ticket had to be returned on the same day for a refund, she repeated that I should come back tomorrow.
I left quietly again. This time I didn't go back. It was only a dollar, but still, I don't like being ripped off, and I especially don't like having to put up with attitude while I'm being ripped off. Will you be next?
