Striking Shadow Praying Mantis Kung Fu Using the name of a system to fool the public in thinking there is a connection Internet
In short this is a made
up system to further the Ego of a single individual with no
substantiated background in Praying Mantis other than doing some
forms. To call a system Praying mantis you
must follow some fundamental principles and theories.
In addition to change or ad to a system you need to be of
a certain level in that system first, and then you need to
have tested it out against others in your system and
against other styles.
This
whole new supposed style is just a way to make
money. Using the long noble history of Praying Mantis kung
fu in the title, to gain unsuspecting unknowing new students
to purchase this book or heaven forbids take a class.
The
problem is a unknowing person might take a class and learn these new moves then
get into a fight and it doesn't work, or learn this junk then want to
continue their training and have to start all over again because what they
learned was nonsense, and bad habits etc..
Look anyone
can come up with a new style or teaching mentor that is not the point but to
imply or state it is part of the Praying Mantis system is wrong.
It
is unconscionable, immoral and unethical and is being
done to make money. Not to pass down any real knowledge or a specific
tradition.
To
those looking in to PM any legitimate teacher will have
a specific type of picture with their teacher seated and
the student will stand behind the seated teacher. Second they will most likely
have a certificate stating a rank or completion of a specific body
of knowledge (i.e. stating Praying Mantis specifically). The instructor
will gladly be forth coming with other references in that
specific system (not other styles). Now falling outs do occur between
student and teachers then it is a matter of doing homework on
the fundamental tenants of Praying mantis. An open
teacher will be able to demonstrate the principles easily. And
if they are of good character others in that system will voche for
them as well, regardless of a falling out with one person.
In this
day and age people do not get into combat for life or death, teachers
are not challenged, and systems are not tested by people walking in off
the street. So who is anyone to come up with a better new system of Praying Mantis?
Most likely this
person never really learned a complete system of Praying
Mantis,
or applications or theories and principles.
Just
because you need money to pay bills is no excuse to make stuff up to get people
in the door.
To some
this might sound like sour grapes and who cares anyway. In all
honesty that is so true. But once you put yourself out in the public as a
Master and sate something, it is wrong to bring down the others in
the community that are trying to preserve 400 years if history.
Teach
whatever you want just don't claim it is Praying Mantis.
Some
of us what a clean untarnished reputation, there is enough of lost
information out there, we don't need more confusion to be added to
the mix.
So in
conclusion stay away from this supposed new style it
is really just a person trying to make a buck
putting pieces of things together, but as they say
"jack of all triads, master of none" What this person needs
to do is take Praying Mantis out of the name that is real the main criticism.

There is no one else who has anything to say about this report because it is untrue. It's concocted by someone who has a personal vendetta or issue against the individual. As a former student I can attest that he is not only highly skilled and extremely experienced in the Praying Mantis system, but also has pure lineage under Wing Chun and Praying Mantis.
