Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

These apartments would easily be the best we'd ever lived it if not for their financial department. We had to move in from Reno in a rush, so we decided an apartment would be best while we learned the area and picked out a house. This apartment seemed the most convenient as far as my son's school and my job. They also offered to take a check and reserve our spot.

Things started after we moved in, when they informed us that there were other costs and fees we had to pay because we had pets, even though we told them up front we had pets (they said the other person we talked too must have forgotten to charge us). We forked over a $200 pet deposit. Next thing we know, they explain we have to pay another $200, because its a "per pet" pet deposit. They also explain that there's a "pet fee" of $100 more just for having pets in the first place. We fork all of this over.

Finally, the straw that broke the camels back is the THIRD $200 pet deposit they tacked on to our rent plus a $70 fee they charged us for paying the electric bill while getting it transferred over. NV Power has two divisions, one in northern Nevada and one in southern, and you can't just transfer between them. You have to close the northern account and reopen as a brand new customer in the southern account. We went in and talked to their staff, and they explained they would take off the third $200 pet deposit and take a check from us in the meantime while they ask their manager about the $70 fee.

Things get unbelievable now. The next day there's an eviction notice on our door. We go back in and talk to them. They explain that the $70 can't be removed, that because it cannot be removed, they couldn't accept our earlier check because it wasn't for the full amount of what they demanded, that because they couldn't accept our check, we were past due on rent, and that because we were past due on rent, they were evicting us. It gets extra fun because they also went in and added late fees, eviction fees, etc.

Do not live here, especially if you have a family; its a beautiful place but the financial division will fleece you for every cent you have. If you don't pay up, they kick you and your family out.
