Sun Tran Tucson's Public Transportation Bus System Rondstadt Roy Laos Tohono Transit Centers Violence, Sadism and Illegal Drug Sales on Tucson Buses; Incompetent Drivers, non-regulation stops, failed Tucson Police Response Tucson Arizona
While taking the number 8 bus from downtown Tucson to Tucson Blvd and Broadway, an obviously psychotic adult male on the bus in a leather jacket that I had never seen before began repeatedly screaming that I stunk and that I had to get off the bus.
I stood next to female hispanic bus driver and asked her to call the police. She was chewing on a small red and white and white straw and seemed unresponsive.
Finally the psychotic white "adult" male back-handed me in the face with my glasses on as I stood right next to the bus driver, in front of over 10 people.
The bus driver still would not call the police, and pretended she did not have/could not find a phone or the Sun Tran dispatch communicator. Then she just drove on. I had a broken nose.
Another passenger offered me a cell phone, but the psychotic was still in a possition to attack me further so I declined.
After calling the police at 911 phone a few blocks away, they were as usual for calls not tendered by women and property owners very long and utterly dysfunctionally responsive, very unfortunately as usual.
Incompetently trained female bus drivers, useless and not well deployed video and security procedures, drivers that will take no action even when passengers are clearly assaulted and complain.
* Stopping at unmarked and non-regulation stops
* Not taking the time to correctly ticket all passengers...some ride for free, some pay the discounted $ 0.40 fair without cards or with expired discount transit cards
* Driver engaging in extended converations with passengers while driving that endangers all
* "Minorities" sell drugs in the back of the bus, and at various bus stops
* Inconsistent, unprofessional service...
* Making exceptions to regulations because of insufficient/incorrect training and driver character
* Bus stops times are not kept, and times and scheduals are not posted "permanently" at each bus stop, as they are in other nations with far superior service and safety records.
As much as using public transportation saves gas and lives, please avoid this wicked, evil and incompetently run transit system...your children are being harassed and assaulted by pride, vanity and crude evil. In a gamely little world run for social supremacy of the owning and ruling class, everybody loses truly...long on expensive publicity and disfunctional adverts that are a distraction to safety
