I am just going to make this short and sweet. I got the infamous call telling me that I have won a free cruise. It turned out to be a sales pitch. The people seemed really nice, and the environment seemed like something I wanted to be a part of. After negotiating the price of the contract and the consideration being recieved for the money, I started asking questions. I asked to see a schedule of their Prime rate date's for their specific regions, I was told they didn't have it at the moment, but somehow it was in my folder that they gave me to take home. I tried to take my time and read the contract, I was told that they were closing in fifteen minutes and that I could not come back the next day because this date was the last day of the current promotional period. I was upset when I get home and seen the prime season rates applied to just about everything, and every date. Only time it didn't apply, for instance, was at the beach during the winter months.
During the sales pitch and the contract negotiations, it was emphasized that they only needed a 90-day notice to book any property, and it was also emphasized that if they were unable to accomodate your need, that you would recieve a 1,000 dollar saving bond. I tried to book a weeks vacation over 90 days ahead of time and was told there was nothing available. I requested my 1,000 dollar U.S savings bond and they told me "that guarantee is no longer available" and that their new sunsational guarantee supercedes the old guarantee. I found this unreasonable and requested a refund. I still have not go it back yet so I am taking action. I will continue to share my experiences with family, friends, the media, and whomever else I can until I get my refund.
