On May 24, 2017. my husband and I met with Alvaro Ramirez at our home . We ordered shutters for several of our windows and our patio door. He assured us that we would have everything within 3 weeks. We gave him a $2500 deposit on that day. Throughout the following 3 week period, we placed several calls to Al. Each time we spoke with him, he always had a different excuse. And each time he promised "I'll call you tomorrow between 10:00 and noon" or "Alex, my installer, will be there on Wednesday betweeen 1:00 and 3:00" or "I'm just waiting for your shutters to be painted" or "I'm on my way to the warehouse right now." The excuses were endless and nothing ever came to fruition. To make a long story short, we finally got our shutters on August 2, 2017 after many heated telephone onversations.
We ordered a newer type of shutter without the middle tilt rod. The shutters in our living room are always kept closed as we really don't use that room at all. To clean the shutters, I just basically ran a feather duster over them. The following June, we began having high winds and frequent dust storms. I decided it was time to do a bit heavier cleaning and began wiping down each slat individually.
That's when they began falling apart. The screws were coming through the wood on some slats and the slats were coming out of their holes on others. I called Al and told him that we were very unhappy that this should be happening to shutters that were't even a year old. After sending him a few photos of the damaged slats, he agreed to come out to our home with the man he introduced as the manufacturer. They inspected the areas in question and removed all of the shutters in our living room (the ones we never use). We put a piece of blue tape on each of the remaining slats that needed to be replaced. At first we were told that it woulld be 2 or 3 weeks.
I have called Al a couple of times inquiring about when we should expect to receive our shutters. Again, promises and Today, Alex was to be here between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. Guess what! No show, no call. My husband called Al at 1:00 and told him to come and take all of the remaining shutters out of our home....we didn't want them and we wanted our money back. Al tried to tell us that he could have our shutters ready for us but my husband insisted that he wanted our money back. We will probably have to take him to small claims court or just sue outright in order to recoup our money.
Buyer beware!! We will never do business with this company again! They lie and and produce an inferior product that they don't stand behind.
