Suntrup Kia West County Conniving...Lieing...Disrespectful...A Joke! Ballwin, Missouri
I have bought many cars in the last 6-7 years and have never dealt with as much garbage as I have dealt with these people. It has been weeks and weeks of not getting phone calls returned and getting lied to. It hasn't just been sales or financing or management but the whole dang place. We were referred to go there from a friend of a family member, that has a friend that works there, so we figured that would be a good route to take and maybe we can avoid the usual headaches and be treated a little better. Quite the opposite. First we went through an hour and a half hassle of telling them what we could afford on the car we test drove and them literally laughing like we were joking that we thought that was a reasonable discount on the sticker price they had on the used car we test drove. Even with the price they wanted being much higher than KBB value. We told the salesman what we could afford from the get go and he had us in cars thousands above that, so we thought well maybe they are going to give us a good deal since we were referred there. So some how miraculously after telling us there was no way they could give us that price and being ready to leave for other dealerships, they sold us the car at the price we offered. Great, we were happy and thought we came to the right place...not so fast. We've had to go back to the dealership 6 times and make atleast 15 phone calls in the last month and a half. After getting our price, they snuck in an almost $3,000 limited warranty after telling us Suntrup had this oh so great lifetime warranty through their dealership. So yeah they were gonna get the money back they took off the sticker price for us. Which we had taken off the contract thankfully, because we would have been paying all that extra money for a warranty when the car still had a manufactures warranty along with the lifetime dealership warranty. We were definitely not being steered in a logical way by our finance guy which makes sense I know. In the end we ended up having the finance guy cancel the loan agreement he was trying to setup with my credit union, as it still wasnt taken care of 6 weeks after the night we took the car home and going straight to my credit union ourselves and getting the loan. With half the price warranty and half the price gap insurance they were trying to offer us from them
We waited and waited for our paperwork to register the car, for about 3 weeks and 1 week until our temp tag expired. We called a few times and was told it was processing or whatever they said it was doing. Finnally a few days from our temp tag expiring and leaving multiple messages and getting calls back saying "I'll look into it and call you back as soon as possible" and never getting calls back, I had my wife call. She finnally got an answer and was told the title for the car was lost and they had applied for a duplicate copy...a week before we had to have it registered, but we were never called and informed that this was the problem. Instead of continueing the pointless voicemails being left, we drove up there right after we found out about the title and brought my father so they would stop pushing around a 24 year old married couple. Which was the case the whole time, they did whatever they wanted because we were young and that was extremey obvious. When we got there the manager came out and talked to us and as soon as I said something about the title being lost, he said "we never said the title was lost." Funny because we just got off the phone with a guy saying it was lost! So they sold us a car with a lost title and decided not to ever tell us and got all defensive when we drove up their to address it. On top of that they only gave us one key for the car, its a simple key no chip in it, and when we asked about another key they said yeah we can get you another key for $20. Gimme a freakin break dude!!
Finnaly after 6 weeks of leaving the lot with this car, we got the title and most paperwork (we had to get emissions done ourselves) we went to the credit union ourselves to get the loan, made sure none of the extra charges they wanted to add into the contract were not on there and are getting a check to bring to the dealership to get this whole ordeal finally finished. After being treated like idiots and waiting and not getting called back and lied to about a missing title and wanting to charge us $20 for a key and did I mention not getting called back, oh and having to drive up there once a week to actually get anywhere with anything...we wouldn't buy a car from them again if they paid us to take it off the lot. NEVER! BEWARE!
