Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I purchased a custom log home kit for 45,100k,in good faith, from Swuannee River Log Homes in Oct. 2002. They have been paid in full and to this day I have not recevied my home or even close to getting preliminary plans worked out for blueprints to be made. The salesman,Jay Wetzel, has this account so botched that even his manager, Mike M., and the owner, Ben Miller, are confused as to what he sold me in materials and style of home. His lack of communication and failure to have written paperwork has caused this company to default in its agreement.

I was assured that all agreements and pricing was approved by Ben Miller when asked to sign their sales agreement. However, there was no signature on the agreement when I signed and it does state "(Must be signed by a corporate officer to be valid)". The materials list was not available to me at that time...however...that was brought up after I already signed the paperwork. Making an excuse that the receptionist must have left it out.

They have since sent me 3 seperate sets of preliminary plans all having some sort of mistakes on them. One says I have the same amount of sq footage on the second floor as the first making my allowed 1300 sq ft now way over and they want more money from me to continue. I have not seen a peek of Jay Wetzel since I signed this agreement and he has since initiated 3 appointments to meet with him and his "design team" (a one girl show) yet has not showed up for any of them. I have spoken with Ben Miller on the phone once. He offered me their cheapest model without the second story for my money saying he never authorized Jay Wetzel to approve such design having many cuts for squared angled corners. I either must come up with 10k more or default their agreement and sacrifice a whooping 25%. Nearly 11k for them to do nothing but lie, cheat and steal.

I have written them numerous letters requesting a full refund listing why they have defaulted and have even filed with the BBB of Jacksonville to get their side of the story in writing. They in return sent them a totally different perspective along with a different materials list. Now they look like fools as I have proved in every aspect factuals as in telephone bills, letters and faxes they have sent me and such...at the end ... they have no fight. Nothing bad to say about me and no complaints. They are just trying to drag this out until I give up and go away I guess. No so!!! If anyone has dealt with this company or recognizes the name Jay Wetzel from any other company and has a complaint please let your info be known.

#3Consumer Suggestion

Sun, March 12, 2006

I'd like to suggest to the folks who put down money and never recieved gods or services for this payment. To the folks in Pinella County Florada, please call your State Attorney Generals office ASAP. You can also go to Florida State Attorney's Office website at http://statty.co.pinellas.fl.us/ look under consumer complaints/home improvement link, where you will find the appropriate forms to file. Be sure to have copies of all money paid, contracts etc. The more information you can provide, the better the chances that the State Attorney can prosucute this company. Not recieving goods for money paid is a felony criminal charge in most states. As for anyone else who has been taken by this company should gather the same information and contact thier County District Attorney or State Attorney's office. The BBB will get you no where. Hope this helps and good luch to all of you.

what suwannee river said what we were going to get and what we got were quite different. they promised what we never got. once we talked to a sales rep. at a log home show. Mike m. said they would make it right. we still have'nt got anything out of them. he just told us that to get rid of us. this was back in 10-05. when and if they ever come back to ca. to another log home show we will use some of the tools rip- off revenge has given us.

Free range to rip off, a disgrace as these entities, log home council, log home directory and log home reports are advertising that it is perfectly alright for customers to deal with this company

Apparently all the log home sites condone this company. Suwannee River Log Homes boldly advertise in the log home council, log home directory and log home reports to name but three, there are more. One site has even a section for past customers to e-mail their views, all three reports have an incredible five out five score in every aspect of their dealings with SRLH. One could imagine how consumers could be led to believe this company is straight up.Wow what a score! Remember there is no agency policing of log home suppliers, Suwannee Never Logs knows this and is very aware of its underhanded ways in this case in Palm Harbor. This is a disgrace as these entities, log home council, log home directory and log home reports are advertising that it is perfectly alright for customers to deal with this company and feel safe that it is carrying out its buisness above and beyond. This whole issue is so out of order and yet Suwannee river log homes are answerable to no-one. The log home companies should be looking into their buisness practices before selling them on their sites so further to protect the consumer.Goes to show the mighty $ takes priorty over one ripped off consumer!

UNBELIEVABLE, as long as you have a business license you have the perfect tool to commit perfectly legal fraud

What is it with companies anymore? It seems to me as long as you have a business license you have the perfect tool to commit perfectly legal fraud. Sorry to read about your experience--I wish I had a suggestion, but the fact of the matter is you'll be damned lucky to get anyone involved that will do something about these crooks. At least, that's been my experience.
