Do not work for this company. They are completely a scam and rip off. If you are looking for a way to support your family this is NOT it. There was no sign on bonus. Whenever there was a problem with the truck the dispatchers handled when it was conveinet to them leaving the drivers stranded in other states on the side of the road or at weigh stations for hours on end. The pay checks are the cherry on top of all the bull s**t. Fees such as tires, hotel rooms, and diagnostic checks were charged to me and deducted from my pay leaving me with a mere $200.00 for two weeks! There were also multiple instances when i had not received my direct depost but they claimed to have proof it was deposited and refused to look into it deeper to compensate me. I had to make other last minute arangements in order to keep a roof over my wife and childrens heads. They are a fraud!!

I have been driving for over 25 urs and hired on with sweet since October 2014.I must say this is the best company I have worked for in that time.I was off work for 4 weeks medical leave and they paid my insurance premiums so I could continue to ser my doctor.DON'T KNOW OF ANY TRUCKING COMPANY THAT WOULD DO THAT.Most would say your problem.I have seen a lot of drivers come and go in this industry and it takes special people to do this job and sweet realizes this. When I went through orientation they told us this and o thought another b.s.story to get you in a truck.Proved me wrong! They are in the business of making $ who isn't.Bottom line if u do your job they treat u right. As for Mr.Parr I never met the man but I have the feeling is is on of those that want everything on a silver platter and it isn't going to happen in this industry. My suggestion to him would be accept the nature of trucking or find another line of work.Good luck to you sir.

look folks this is a typical trucking company, they are the best over the road company I have worked for in my 15 years. For the most part I go where I want and get the home time I want but like anything else it's a give and take ordeal. The office here is decent and respectful but you have to be respectable to get respect! They only want what any other company wants and that's do your job don't whine about everything and you might make it here. I get paid every week and sometimes there are mistakes but I get everything I have coming. The pay is decent but it's not free you got to work for it.

I drove for sweet express and can say everything mr. Pharr said is false. There is a sign on bonus which I received.  Plus I was never charged for any repairs and never left on the side of the road. As for the direct deposit it was always there when it was supposed to be. It's not fair to say lies about a company just because you no longer work there.

Mr. Cameron Parr was paid for all the work he did.  The sign on bonus does exist and applies to new hirees; that was explained to Mr. Parr who was re-hired, i.e. was given a second chance after he was MIA for weeks the first time around. We pay break down and lay over pay to all the drivers who are stranded somewhere due to repairs and we have many drivers and ex-driver who will attest to that.

Our company does not charge tire repair, hotel rooms, or any diagnostic checks back to drivers.  Willful and intentional abuse of company equipment is addressed though. Mr. Parr had the same issue the second time around as he did the first time around:

He wanted several days off at home and then he also wanted to have miles.  Anyone in trucking knows that those two cannot coincide: either you are on the road working and making money, or you stay home with your family, but your checks reflect that.

To recap:

We have a sign on bonus for first time hirees (it is $1,200) and it is paid $100 per month for the first year.

We reimburse drivers for all business related expenses as long as they provide original receipts that show the money spent.  we have 200 satisfied drivers and an updated fleet of 2014 T680 Kenworths and we base our pay purely on merit.

Mr. Parr was unable to prove his skills with us and we wish him and his family all the best in the future hoping that he will find a good home with a different trucking company.

We take care of our drivers, and as long as they have realistic expectations about home time and pay, we can always make it work.  Please call our recruiter and check it out; that will give you the best idea about our company: 616-241-9200 x.126
