As an outsource Customer Service Rep. for T-Mobile I have noticed a recent upsurge in unwanted billing from the 'other service providers' allied with T-Mobile.

The companies like jamster/mblox etc who can send content such as games and ringtones to your cellphone and bill you through the company much like 1-900 toll numbers.

Many customers are calling in to question these charges, claiming they never signed up for them. We have a tool on the system to 'blacklist' or 'block' these providers from accessing a customers account and billing them.

Recently, one of the biggest providers, Jamster/Mblox has been REMOVED from the list. We are no longer able to block these at the customers request, they must do it themselves. This action convinces me T-Mobile and Jamster know exactly what they're doing and are purposely reaping huge revenues through peoples mistakes or ignorance.

STOP WHINING! Dodging scam-artists is regretfully part of living in America

I've worked for t-mobile for over 5 years. Dodging scam-artists is regretfully part of living in America, like it or not. I agree, other content providers, like Jamster, etc. are not always really clear about their fees. I have a phone on my account for my husband, and he has an older-model phone. He tried downloading something when he saw the Jamster commercial and never received it on his phone because it was not compatible. He didn't know so he tried re-downloading stuff until he had racked up over $35.00 in charges on our bill. However, he is man enough and honest enough to tell me what happened. I called Jamster's 1-800 # that day and opted him out of their service and talked to a Jamster customer service rep. It took about 5 minutes total. I got a refund check in the mail from Jamster 3 weeks later, for the entire amount, $35.83, just in time to pay the bill. It was easy. So if you don't agree with the charges from "outside content providers" or you 'claim' you 'didn't do it', it's really easy to resolve. T-Mobile is not "in" on some secret scam with Jamster. Almost mobile service providers have partnerships with outside content providers, so no matter what company you're with, they aren't going to go away. PS: Amy in Colorado Springs - You shouldn't trash-talk about other reps, they are part of your own team and they aren't working against you. That's not good for you karma. What, do you think your'e perfect and never make mistakes? I'm sure reps have had to clean up after you before too. And Henry, if you're going to trash-talk the company you are working for, it's time to find a DIFFERENT JOB. YOu shouldn't be working for us if you're not gonna stand behind our service.

ok I am a direct rep for T-Mobile and as usual you "outsourcers" have your info incorrect. I am one of the reps that spend alot of time cleaning up after you "outsourcers", anyway all 3rd party providers are able to be blacklisted you just have to take the time to find it. If your not willing to take that time don't blame T-Mobile. People know there is important info in the small print and that the catch is usually there so if you don't want that catch like the charge then I guess you will tape it and freeze it so you can read it. Not only that but the messages are sent to the phones in spam and explains the charge and how to stop the subscription as well. I know because I have received one.

Retail Guy..says it all

Yeah.. it tells you about the charge..in print so small you need a 40 inch screen to read it..oh..and ya better tape it because it's not up there long. I realize full well that the idea of 'ethics' is long gone in America, do you realize what kind of world you're helping to make by buying in to using peoples carelessness or even trust to make a bigger profit? I clean up after 'Retail Guys' all day..they lie to people and I'm the one who gets cursed at or cried at and has to try and make it right. Keep raking in the cash, it's obviously more important than ANYTHING else in the world. I'd like to see 'Personal Responsibility' apply as much to corporations and sales people as THEY want it to apply to the consumer. Bet you'd both find it a little uncomfortable.

You don't know what your talking about - It's called Personal Responsibility

You obviously don't know what your talking about and just an unreasonable customer. I don't work for any cell phone provider, just a retail guy here. It doesnt matter who your cell phone provider is, you can do that scam which I admit it is, but I am smart enough not to do it. If you saw the commercial it says at the BOTTOM of the screen that there is a $4.99 per month charge or other service charge involved. YOU CHOSE to do that download, NO ONE held a gun to your head and made you do this. Its no different than if you dialed a 1-900 number, the cell phone carrier is NOT responsible, they only bill you for it. In fact, T-Mobile will actually reverse the charge for you if you ask them and they will take the loss just to make you happy and keep you as a customer. Because for some reason in America I think we are toooooooo customer service oriented. Do you think that if you were in another country like Europe they would do this for you, take the loss and pay for your error, HELL NO!!! You just need to watch what your doing and hold yourself responsible. What if your in a store one day shopping and there is a really bad storm outside and you left at your will, got outside and got struck by lightning, are you going to try and sue the store because they didnt tell you that you should not leave. I think NOT... There is something called Personal Accountability and if you cannot be responsible for your own actions, then maybe you need to get rid of your cell phone and check yourself into a nursing home and let someone else wait on you hand and foot. Its people like you that do stupid crap like this as to why rates and crap go up. They are making you happy by keeping you as a customer and wiping off that charge and paying it for you at their Company Expense. Then we other customers have to pay for it by getting rate hikes. Thanks Alot LOSER!!!!! Later,
