Anyone who has prepped food can tell you that gloves can be contaminated or get just as dirty as a pair of hands. Anyone can put on a pair of gloves to prep food, scratch his crotch and then go back to prepping food. When I was a teen I worked at one restaurant that required us to wear gloves and the owner even admitted that they were more for customer perception than anything else. Bottom line: An employee who isn't wearing gloves can have clean hands and an employee who is wearing gloves could be wearing dirty ones. As for the rudeness, it shouldn't happen in theory but how many people really go to a fast food restaurant expecting quality service? By putting this person at the front counter, the restaurant is indicating that they don't care about your business and you should take your dollars to an establishment that wants you as a customer.

Ok lets make sure I get this correct. You are more worried about not getting your drink with you food? I would be more concerned about the food prep server not wearing the gloves. Hummmm lets see.....You would rather have a drink so you can eat your food that someone else touched with there hands. I think the ripoff is with yourself!!!!
