All Target signs that say "30%,50%, & 75%" are clearance. They also say clearance in big white lettering, not sale. I'm not going to argue this point, because all Target stores are uniform. They all receive the same signs, and all the clearance racks are organized in the same manner. In fact the big boys upstairs get upset if we're not uniform. On a sale item, it will not specify how much that price is marked down in a percentage. If an item is on sale It will simply give a "was" and a "now" on a white piece of paper above the rack. The reason items are marked down as clearance are A. because they're not selling well, which is why you sometimes get two shirts that are exactly the same in every way except a color that happened to be unpopular, B. there's very few of the item left, or C. the item is out of season. Reason B is why we can't hold or mark down clearance items. It's not fair to another customer who may want that item, who didn't make the mistake of buying and paying full price for it. Even if the woman at Guest Services really wanted to give you the sale price, the computer won't let her. Since the unique number that's been assigned to that specific piece of clothing has been flagged as clearance, there's nothing anyone can do to change that. It's simply policy, and I do apologize that you feel so bitter towards my wonderful employer. -Target Team Member

I work in guest service, and the employee was correct. Target does honor sale prices, you have a 14 day period of time in which we will adjust for the sale price, bring in your receipt and we are happy to do that for you. Anything with an orange sticker is on clearance, not sale, and will not be adjusted. That means anything that was full price and got clearanced down to 30% off, and likewise 30% to 50%, and 50% to 75%. If you really do want the clearance price, you have to return your item, and either buy a new one off the floor, or if the one you returned was the only one there, you must wait til that one goes back out onto the floor for repurchase, seems a little irrational yes, I agree, but we can't sell anything back right there, we get in trouble for doing that. The same goes for holds, we aren't allowed to put anything on clearance on hold. Hope this clears up any confusion you had with the policy!

The sign where the blouse was stated 30% off sale..did not know that that meant clearance according to some of the feedback received.

You admit that you chose to pay full price for an item. Target charged you the price listed on the item. THEN you saw that the item was put on clearance and had buyer's remorse that you hadn't waited to buy it at a lesser price. This is NOT Target's problem. You didn't get the "sale price" because when you bought the item, IT WASN'T ON SALE. And no, not ALL stores provide price adjustments due to buyer's remorse.

The employee at the service desk was correct. The item was on CLERANCE not ON SALE, these are two very different things. Target(and as far as I know any store) does not price match on an item that is on clearance. As to the suggestion that everyone else gave you, that is exactly what you should have done...
