Telebrands BARK OFF Look out for DOUBLING/TRIPLING Van Nuys, California
This Company's website is set up to deceive consumers. The product states it will deter dogs from barking by emitting a high-pitched electronic sound that only dogs can hear!
I wanted 2 Bark Offs with their "Buy 1 Get 1" offer of $10. Each page you advance through tries to upsell you to buy -2- more so each time you click you want 2, it adds 2 more. The pages read as if you are confirming the TOTAL units you want, but ADDS 2 or more each time. I also asked for an AC adapter. Shipping was to be 6-8 weeks.
When I checked out I was buying ** 8 ** BarkOffs and my total was also $90.91!! You cannot amend your order. I immediately called 800-777-4034 and was told that my order was "so new" it wasn't in their system and to call back in a couple of days with my order number. I never received a confirming e-mail. Three days later I received a SHIPPING CONFIRMATION. What happened to the 6-8 weeks?? I called them again and they said it was too late to amend my order. I received an RMA. I was steaming hot!
Part of the $90.91 was $43.93 in SHIPPING. I had my UPS store weigh the box and it was 1.8 pounds. Their postage cost was only $9.03. I NEVER RECEIVED the AC Adapter.
I have asked American Express to investigate this also. I will NEVER EVER buy from these scam artists again.
