Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
An employee of ours went to Walmart and cashed her paycheck. It was converted electronically and voided, however, they did not give the paycheck back to her.

Then on the same day they made another electronic conversion of the same check. When I noticed that our bank had paid the same check twice, I contacted the bank. They followed up on it and stopped payment on the 2nd electronic transfer. Telecheck handles all check approvals at Walmart and many other businesses that we deal with. Telecheck froze our account and we are now not able to write any checks at businesses that use them. It also affected my personal account which has nothing to do with the business account.

This happened on May 6th and we still have not been able to clear it. We have faxed Telecheck our bank statement ( which I feel that our balance is no business of theirs) and a letter from the bank president stating that this check has been paid and other information they requested. We have faxed this 3 times. Each time we try to speak to anyone at Telecheck we get a different person.

We also contacted Walmart to no avail. We are at a loss as to what to do. We are filing a complaint with the Attorney General's office and our next step will be to get legal counsel. This has been a total nightmare for my business.

Hmm... I wonder if it was put through as a personal check... Do you know what register the transaction was at? As in, at the service desk or at a register? The thing that will honestly give the most information is the receipt, if you can get me a scan of that, I can try to get some more understanding, and then I can see if I can contact that walmart and get some more information from them... The other thing, if the employee doesn't have the receipt, if you can get the date of the transaction and the exact dollar amount of the check, I may be able to get them to look it up for me at that store, and get more information at the same time. One last thing, Just so I know I've got the right place, Is this the right walmart? Wal-Mart Supercenter Store #2252 3722 Easton-Nazareth Road Easton, PA 18045 Thanks, Ben

In response to the rebuttal by Bendr, the paycheck was a bank issued paycheck with the employee's name on it. I do not know if the employee received a receipt, she purchased items for approximately $9.00 and presented her paycheck for payment.

Electronically converted? That's odd...

This sounds quite odd, Paychecks don't get electronically converted. Those are always endorsed and sent to the bank... The only checks that are electronically converted are personal checks for merchandise. Just so I can try and understand better what happened, Was this check a bank-printed payroll check? Or a personal check filled out by hand? The other question, Was the check made out from your business to the employee? Also, Does your employee have the receipt from when they cashed the check? Let me know, and I'll do what I can to help you figure this out.
