The car wash is adequate, not outstanding. The unsatisfactory part is in the way this establishment does business. I purchased a two year membership at their highest level to maintain my vehicle at a certain standard. A little more than a year I was told that to get the same services, I would have to pay extra because of a price increase in their menu. They changed the deal mid stream!

I called their corporate offices for an explanation. I seems they play a gottca game which in effect raises the cost of services after you have signed up. That coupled with an over aggesive sales pitch every time you go for a car wash for additional services is an unpleasant experience leaving you with a pressured and hustled feeling. You have to say NO two to three time for unwanted additional services they are selling. I was even told since I lived near the air base, I would need to get my car waxed more often to protect it from the jet fuel residue from the air craft. They are playing a hustle game for the money when they should be concerned with just providing a good service. Texas Shine used to be a good service, however their aggesive business practice has caused me to find another source for my car wash needs.

Got a one year pass with the purchase of my new vehicle, in San Antonio to Texas Shine. On the "certificate" for the year's "free" car wash, it states ithas a value of $499. That'llbe the day. It allows me to get a free exterior wash and the tires done, ONLY. Any of the other "good" carwashes around town charge $225 to $275 for a full service interior and exterior service, per year. I figure the dealer probably paid $30 or $40 for it cause that's about what it's worth. The service writers try and upsell me but I just tell them NO! one time, I want just the basic washand vacuum it myself. Now the wash at Bandera and 1604 is the most useless place on the planet. My pass entitles me to get my vehicle wiped down/dryed. Half or most of the time no one shows up to even bother. I leave the $2 tip money sitting on the passenger seat and most of the time it just sits there. ONE time, one of the guys actually did a good job, like he wanted to work AND did an excellent job and he got $5. The majority of thepeople at Bandera and 1604 spend most of their time talking on their cellphones or texting and ignoring customers. The wash at Fredericksburg and Prue is a whole 'nother story. Those are a hussling bunch of mothers. The service writers ARE pushy and it's a bear to make that turn. Did the wash at 1604 and Culebra on Tuesday and it was inbetween. I don't know how they can change the terms of your contract. IF you still have the original contract, I'd look it over to see if they CAN change the terms. Otherwise I'd demand a refund of the balance of the time left. There are other better carwashes in SA. I've had contracts for the last 15-20 years.
