Texas workforce commission TWC Misclassified employee Austin Texas
I worked for a company that has two companies under one corporation. One company I was paid by the hour and the other by the window. I was fired for no fault of my own. The company I was paid by the hour, I am receiving unemployment. The other I was denied by TWC because I was given a 1099 at end of year. I fall under every criteria of an employee, not a contractor. I filed with Texas Department of Labor (wage & hour). They determined I was an employee and got me overtime pay. I have filed for appeals and sent emails all the way to DC. And no one wants to listen. I was also severely injured due to negligence of company to maintain safe work equipment. I am represented and we are waiting for responses.
