THE AUTO DEPOT misleading business tactics. failed to reveal supposed co policy regarding cash deposits. refused to refund me. NORFOLK Virginia
i put a small cash deposit on a vehicle i was interested in. i wanted them to hold the car for me while i went over the details of the possible purchase of the car. after having decided i did not want to buy the car i returned to get a refund of the deposit. they refused to give me my money back because supposedly others had come by after me and been unable to buy the car because i had a hold on it. they say they lost business because of me and due to this they would not give me the money back. i did not sign a bill of sale and there was never any agreement that i absolutely would be buying the car. it was never stated that this deposit was non-refundable and there was never any understanding that i would not get my money back if i changed my mind. the money i put down was a deposit ONLY not a down payment or anything of the sort.
