The Autobarn Fiat of Evanston Deceptive selling Evanston Illinois
CAUTION!!! The Autobarn Fiat of Evanston is a deceptive dealership. Read my experience and decide for yourself. They had listed a 2010 Callaway SS Camaro for sale at $32,800. I called and said I would buy the car at the listed price plus dealer charges. I secured a loan at my local credit union and had a check cut for the amount told to me by Alex at the Autobarn. I drove 12 hours and 600 miles, one way, with a car trailer in tow to their location. When I arrived I was presented with the car in very dirty condition. It was obvious that they had gone to great trouble to dirty the car. The tire side walls were coated in grease and had lint and feathers spread on the grease. The entire car had a coating of dust and light dirt, enough to write my name on the hood with my finger. The car was the dirtiest of any vehicle on the lot by a long shot. I was not sure what was going on, but it was enough to make me walk away from the deal, this was at a cost of over $600 in expenses. The next day the same car was listed for $39,800 instead of the original $32,800. If they had missed priced it to me they had ample opportunity to correct the price before I showed up with a cashiers check. You decide if you want to do business with a dealer like this, I do not. You have been warned !
