My name is John and I bought a mini english bulldog from a company called the bulldog exchange llc which is owned by a man named Evan Quintavella, who breeds the dogs in Florida. I actually purchased the dog from a lady named Lisa Vitale who works for him, but I later found out that she lives not in Florida but in the northeast, I think Ohio. I done this all on line on the web site of bulldogminiatures.com, they advertise how these dogs are better than a fullsize bulldog and have less health problems acording to what I was led to believe by Lisa, with a guarantee that was re-written since I have purchased the dog.

I spent $2500.00 for the dog which is definately more than a regular bulldog and have spent in the area of $4000.00 in the 10 months that I owned the dog! This all just to keep the dog alive!! Since all this happened Lisa has not talked to me once and turned over the problem to her brother in law Evan who breeds the dogs. I have contacted the Florida attorney general, and the agriculture dept. of animal services in Florida also, and they are not allowed to give legal advice but both commented on if I have contacted an attorney! Evan made me jump through hoops just to get him to listen to me about what was going on with this dog, and in my opinion and my vets opinion he has no regards for the dogs well being at all, just the money he recieves for these innocent animals.

Months after receiving our "miniature" bulldog we're *just* now starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Where did this all begin? It began when we picked up our dog at the airport, with a huge patch of hair missing from her left hip, and noticeable SCARY breathing issues. Come to find out the day after that our dog arrived with both ringworm (the missing hair area) and pneumonia. That's not all. She arrived with papers over a month old (not this 48-72 hours BS that Stacey claims to send her dogs with), and here's the kicker - the papers weren't even for our dog. They were for ANOTHER dog. Not to mention the fact that the papers detailing the information with the microchip implanted in our dog, were NOT included. To this day, months later - we still haven't gotten those papers. Let me run down some facts about the people involved with "the bulldog exchange". - Stacey had never even seen our dog before she was put on the plane, as a matter of fact I'm not sure she had ever even seen our dog, period. She admitted she never put the dog on the plane. She said someone that works for her kennel did. This was not commonucated to us during everything leading up. She always made it sound like they were a small family business doing everything with TLC. Not so. Blatant lie. When I asked her about the missing hair on the dog her reply was - and I quote - "The patch wasn't there when we put her on the plane". Lies. A patch of missing hair due to ringworm does NOT magically appear on a dog in the course of a flight. - After grilling her about the incorrect papers - first because of the date, second because it was for the WRONG dog - she admitted our dog never went to the vet 48-72 hrs before being sent to us. I'm sure she'll deny it because she, and her son Evan, are like that. - MBCOA.org along with the majority of the sites they link to as referred breeders - are all hosted on the same webservers. They're all registered with the same company. And they are all owned by the *same person*. These "breeders" they're referring all of us suckers to? They're all themselves. The MBCOA website and the organization in general is a front to funnel business to themselves. The website and domain registrations do not lie. Myself, like many others I suspect, went to MBCOA thinking it's an impartial club that will provide good, solid leads towards reputable breeders - instead it points you to a bunch of websites run by the same scam artists selling sick dogs ... themselves! - Have a friend in law? Do your own homework. Find out just how many lawsuits have been filed and settled with "The Bulldog Exchange LLC". The proof is all there. - If you deal with Stacey Krueger, and run into any issues, I GUARANTEE that you will run into excuse, after excuse, after excuse, after excuse. "I was sick". "My son was sick". "It was a jewish holiday". "My mother's dying". "It wasn't my fault - it was a kennel person's fault". ENOUGH! STACEY, AND BY PROXY ALL OF YOUR PEOPLE (Evan, Michelle, etc) - YOU OBVIOUSLY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE DOGS SO ... THIS IS YOUR BUSINESS. RUN IT LIKE SO. STOP MAKING EXCUSES AND PASSING THE BUCK. I GOT SICK OF YOUR LAME PATHETIC EXCUSES! TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR SCREW-UPS! When *I* screw up in my job - I take ownership of that mess-up, because I am a responsible adult. Not some pathetic buck-passing con-artists. - Lastly. Ever stop to think that these Evan/Michelle/Stacey affiliated websites are all selling dogs within weeks of each other? Where in the hell are they getting all of these dogs from? Especially bulldogs which are notorious for having difficulty delivering litters. I never realized it until after the fact, but, again how is it that these people can crank out 4 or 5 dogs per website, *all* year-round? Sketch. All in all - the first 3 months of owning our bulldog cost me close to $5500. In the end is it WORTH it? Of course. We love our dog - she's like our child. But if we could do it all over again would we do it differently? Yes.

The Bulldog Exchange, and Stacey deny that I received a miniature bulldog from them. No matter of postulating in defense of The Bulldog Exchange can change the fact that THE BULLDOG EXCHANGE charged my credit card $1200 for the amount of the deposit . Another $1200 was charged and received by MINIATURE BULLDOGS INC. Both charges were faxed in to the same number. My health guarantee contract may have read Miniature Bulldogs INC, but it too was faxed and titled by THE BULLDOG EXCHANGE. I have a lengthy paper trail which includes a letter from my bank stating who received the funds from the credit card transactions. The puppy I received was sick and has many issues.I followed the contract as I have stated in earlier correspondance. Evan made empty promises and Lisa never contacted me after giving me the puppies flight information. None of what I have said can be disputed and I have saved every email to back up my communication and lack of communication from said parties. Marie

For the record, I am Marie and I did purchase a mini bulldog from the MBCOA's Lisa Vitale and I attempted to work with Evan Quintavella but to no avail. This I have absolutely no problem telling to a judge. Do not question my credibility as I have nothing to gain from lying. Each person has reported their own story. I have never claimed to be anyone other than myself so THE BULLDOG EXCHANGE has it all wrong. This is not the case of one person writing multiple reports. I did in fact purchase a sick bulldog from the MBCOA. I never said it was from The Bulldog Exchange. I did have a conversation with Stacy and Dawn, and multiple conversations with Evan and Lisa. I lost the opportunity at having a healthy miniature bulldog simply by having done business with the MBCOA. I have a lengthy record and copy of each email exchanged with Lisa and Evan if you doubt what I say is true, need I copy and paste each email upon this website?

Good Afternoon. I am writing in response to some of the negative comments that have been posted against The Bulldog Exchange and it's employees. For every negative comment that has been written, there are hundreds upon hundreds of customers throughout the United States that are just thrilled with their dogs that were purchased from us. In fact, many of our customers have gone on to purchase second puppies. Our referral business is about 35 % . The negative comments represent about 1/100% (if that) of our customer base. It is human nature to look for and believe only the negative. We provide a written guarantee that "every" customer signs when purchasing a puppy from us. We stand behind our guarantee 100% . In fact, we guarantee certain things as breeders that other breeders don't. This particular breed of dog does come with the possibility of having issues that bulldogs have. It is not a secret that they can and often do have issues. It is also the repsonsibility of the person purchasing one of our puppies to understand the breed. If the breed isn't understood by the people who purchase them and if the puppies or dogs aren't cared for properly, issues can escalate and problems become more severe. More often then not our customers do not send in the required paperwork. We have our dogs vet checked 24 - 48 hours prior to their going to their new families and health certificates are issued. It is the responsibility of each owner to have their new puppy checked my their vet. This is a check and balance system. It clearly states in our guarantee that the customer has to do this. Those customers that don't follow the steps that we require are the first customers to complain when issues present themselves and our guarantee becomes null and void if this step isn't completed by the customer. It is in black and white.. clearly visible and "every" customer signs it. I am not saying that we are perfect; and I am not saying that there are customers who haven't had issues with our puppies. I am simply saying that bulldogs, miniature and otherwise can sometimes have a set of bulldog problems that are unique to this breed. They are the most wonderful pets..and we do everything that is within our power to insure their good health. Some of what is written in a negative manner is completely erronious and grossly exaggerated. Keep in mind that there are two sides to every story and just because you write something doesn't mean that it is necessarily true. We have a state of the art kennel...People marvel at the beauty of it all and to say that it is absolute perfection is an understatement. We give our puppies and our breeding dogs love, the best food, the best vet care; we socialize our puppies beyond what any breeder does with their puppies and their temperaments are so incredible. We love what we do and it is evidenced by the very vast majority of those customers that purchase their puppies from us. We have neglected to repsond to these reports mostly in part because they have been few and far between, comparatively speaking. Sincerely yours, The Bulldog Exchange

We have purchased 4 MBCOA regestered puppies

It is unfortunate that one person can provide so much hatred. We are the proud owners of 4 MBCOA registered Miniature Bulldog puppies. 2 of which were purchased from The Bulldog Exchange. We have been to their facility and picked up our puppies in person. Our Mini's are everything we expected and more. The owners of The Bulldog Exchange were some of the most knowledgeable breeders we spoke with prior to making and after our purchase. Their Kennel is spotless, beautiful and immaculate. We visited with 5-6 other breeders and nothing compared to their facility. We even spoke with Animal Control who also said their kennel is the best kennel in Florida. They said the technology and state of the dogs are the best they have seen. I would refer anyone interested in a Miniature Bulldog to their kennel. The MBCOA is a great organization and is a true leader for Miniature Bulldogs. We have also been contacted by the same person making misleading claims on various websites. They did not purchase a puppy from The Bulldog Exchange. They purchased their puppy from another family who purchased a puppy from The Bulldog Exchange. How can The Bulldog Exchange be responsible for a puppy resold without their knowledge. They did not know the state of the puppy when resold or were not notified of one of their puppies being resold, which is strictly against their guarantee. Please feel free to contact me with any questions about Miniature Bulldogs. Make sure your Miniature Bulldog is pure breed and from an MBCOA registered Kennel.

The MBCOA is nothing more than a veil for con artists using poor puppies to make their money. We all have the same experience with these people. They are all nice to you until they get your money and then they stop communicating. Lisa Vitale stopped communicating with us as soon as she received our deposit! You never believe that someone is out to take advantage of your good nature until you fall victim to these people. Puppy mill for sure. I personally spoke with the vet who inspects these puppies and he said," I see 20-30 of Evan's puppies each month." Dr. Brinkman told me this on July 12, 2007. Do the math. The MBCOA processes all money and paperwork from their Referred Breeders. What a joke. The Referred Breeders are a front for the whole operation. I am surprised that the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services hasn't shut these people down. If anyone plans a class action law suit against the MBCOA, my name will definetly be on it! Marie Colorado

PUPPY MILL MBCOA aka Miniature Bulldog Club of America! These breeders run the biggest miniature bulldog puppy mill chain in the world! STOP MBCOA

I am so sorry about what happened to you. The MBCOA / Miniature Bulldog Club of America puppy mill scam got me too. After doing lots of research & talking to many other MBCOA victims like me I learned that the MBCOA sells large numbers(probably thousands ever year) of sick fake mix breed miniature English bulldog puppies useing the fake MBCOA Miniature Bulldog Club of America to sell them & it is NOT A REAL CLUB! The MBCOA Miniature Bulldog breeders /brokers are all family members who lie & work togeather. They are a group of puppy mills looking for a way to sell lots of puppies to make big MONEY! I have a miniature bulldog (which I got from the mbcoa/ Miniature Bulldog Club of America puppy mill). My miniature bulldog has so many problems. I have been so angry and miserable about doing business with the mbcoa aka Miniature Bulldog Club of America breeders. I love Mini Bulldogs breed so much but these are not even real mini bulldogs. My dog was promised to be 40 lbs but is now 75 lbs with LONG LEGS! The Miniature Bulldog Club of America MBCOA puppy mill doesn't care if they sell you even a real Bulldog let alone a mini. I would hate to see the miniature English bulldog breed suffer because of a few dirty doers and their (the mbcoa breeders) unethical way of handling business. I purchased a puppy from the Original MiniBulldog mbcoa members website 3 and 1/2 years ago and my mini bulldog has had nothing but bad health problems since day one. In the beginning the mbcoa / Miniature Bulldog Club of America breeders were all about us. I talked to most of the breeders in the Miniature Bulldog Club of America puppy mill group. The mbcoa breeder would answer the phone anytime we called and was always eager to provide us with any information that would get the money to her faster. Once she had the money though, she suddenly disappeared. She never answered our calls and we didn't end up getting to choose our miniature bulldog puppy until about 3 months after we were promised a mini bulldog. Then there was no contact at all. We had no clue when we would be receiving our miniature bulldog puppy until the mbcoa breeder sent us an e-mail one Tuesday afternoon stating that our mini bulldog puppy would need to be picked up at the airport the following morning. I had no time to make any plans, my bf couldn't get off of work, so I had to schlep out to the airport alone and wait for 12 hours, because my miniature bulldog was put on the wrong flight and ended up in Boston. By the time we got our mini bulldog she was scared and filthy and I was so angry I couldn't even bring myself to call the mbcoa breeder we got her from to state all of my complaints (not that she would have answered the phone). My minibulldog puppy ended up having ear mites, a herniated bellybutton (which added to the price of her spaying surgery) and by 3 months of age my mini bulldog had started developing crystals in her bladder which caused numerous UTIs and eventually a stone that was so large it had to be surgically removed and all this before my miniature bulldog even turned a year old. She's now on a specific diet that she will have to continue to eat for the remainder of her life and has had numerous other problems that have cost my thousands of dollars, not to mention the 22 thousand we paid for my unhealthy miniature bulldog puppy. I feel bad for my mini bulldog and my wallet. They have both taken a huge beating thanks to this "mbcoa club" and their negligence. We received her "Miniature Bulldog Club of America / mbcoa papers" about 6 months after we picked her up and have had no contact with the Miniature Bulldog Club of America breeder since. The Miniature Bulldog Club of America mbcoa papers look fake and even hand made. I later found out that the mbcoa / Miniature Bulldog Club of America is NOT a real club just a group of PUPPY MILLS that band together to sell more sick puppies. this fake club is used as a sales pitch just to make money. The mbcoa is in NOW WAY improving the miniature english bulldog breed only hurting it. It's awful what these mbcoa people are doing, not just to the customers being scammed, but to the poor miniature bulldogs who are nothing more than merchandise to them. I don't know what can be done about these so-called mbcoa breeders (scam artist), but I am grateful that you posted the e-mail you received with a link to where we can at least voice our complaints. I have recently talked to over 10 sad families that had the same horrible experience as I did with the mbcoa. PLease list your complaints too hopefully save someone else from having to go down this heartbreaking road. Thank you for your time. THIS PUPPY MILL STUFF makes me so sad. The MBCOA puppy mill needs to be stoped some how :( Reenie

Sorry your dog has issues. Our dog we bought from Stacey is 100% healthy. We bought a dog from Brentwood Bulldog and it was a disaster. Sometimes you get a great dog and other times you get a Lemon. We also bought a dog from MN and they are saying we never did because they are friends with Elena Schwinn at Brentwood. They are liars, scammers, etc. We are in the process of suing them with 3 or 4 other families.

I am responding to Evan and his rebutal, just so we get the story straight, I wish I would of never seen the site for mini bulldogs because it is the most mis-leading information I have ever witnessed, there is no such thing as a mini bulldog according to the bulldog club of america if you do not believe me ask them they will tell you!! But according to the bulldog exchange the minis have better health and they are a better companions, more lies!! The mini is nothing more than breeding the runts of the liter, again if you dont believe me ask any reputable breeder of the full size bulldog. They also have a made up club which is not recognized by any AKC OR ACA. If they advertise better health and such then why then have I spent thousands of dollars on this poor pup, I have all the receits to prove it, I also have two letters from both of my vets stating that this dog has numerous health issues and copies of blood work and test that I have had done on this dog, all which were sent to Evan at the bulldog exchange, The dog was diagnosed as being epileptic, I have spent in the area of 4,000.00 on this dog on operations and drugs and test, again I have all receipts to prove such! The only test that will determine if he has a brain defect is a cat scan which will cost 2-3,000.00 more, let me ask you folks can you afford to pay 2,500.00 for a dog and then spend 4,000.00 on him and turn around and spend 2,500.00 more? simple math that is 9,000.00 on a dog that just turned one year old! This being said the minis have great health issues huh!! Buyer beware this has been a nightmare emotionally and finacially, If anyone wants to talk to me about this please e-mail me. Again I have all receits and test results and letters from two vets explaining what issues this dog has! The Bulldog Exchange LLC Guarantee's and Honors Every puppy we sell

#17REBUTTAL Owner of company

We have had numerous conversations via email with John Balla. His puppy is having seizures and his Vets do not know why. We require per our guarantee that before we replace a puppy that we get to the bottom of the problem. John's Veterinarians requested that vertain test be cnducted to figure out why his puppy is having these problems. We spoke with our Vet and he also reqested the same tests that John's Vet reccomended. John still has not had these tests proformed. He is requesting that we refund the money he paid for his puppy which we will not do. According to most Vets seizures could be casued by a hereditary defect, which in this case we have never had a adult dog or a puppy have seziures, or enviornmental factors. Puppies eat, lick and chew on just abotu anything and sometimes they are steped on accidentaly. If the tests are run and the puppy does have a genetic defect that is causing the seizures we will honor our guarantee and replace the puppy if the puppy dies from these issues. If the Vets find that the seizures are not caused by a genetic defect we will not replace the puppy. We have been breeding dogs for well over 10 years and knoow our bloodlines and would never breed any adult dog known to have a genectic defect or carry a genetic defect. We understand peoples emotions when it comes to their puppy and try our hardest to work with anyone that may have an issue. It is very rare that an issue arrises, and when they do we jump right on it. Anyone interested in seeing our responses to John Ballas questions and emails we will be happy to forward them to you. You will be able to see that no matter what we asked for or what we offered was not good enough for him. He has done nothing that we asked of him, but expects us to do everything for him.
