Yours was the first report I came across. I live in Baltimore MD and of course I just graduated from Towson. Of course like everyone else I went on CareerBuilder... I came across these Sports Marketing jobs and figured I would give them a shot. I applied to - SJS Acquisitions - GEOPAT Enterprises - The Capital Group - SEAM Marketing The first interview was with SJS Acquisitions. I went to the office in Baltimore and the company name on the door was SEAM Marketing. Red Flag. I went in the office and heard the same loud music, coupled with the 2 A.A's who were non-stop on the phone with other bait as I see I was. The lady that interviewed me apologized for the frantic nature in the office because they were moving their location... Red Flag... The lady RUSHED me through an interview, didn't ask much about me, and was very vague in her description of what I would be doing. I got the call that I was one of the few chosen for a second interview and was fed the same lines that many other described here. Something felt strange the whole time and upon leaving I still didn't know what I would be doing. THAT IS DECEPTION! Had an interview with the Capital Group the next day. It was the exact same process. Just like a script... She beat the point across that there is no tele-marketing, She kept telling me things that they were not, but not what they were. She kept saying crap along the lines of, "You understand that starting off you have to pay your dues... You may even be sorting mail for the first few months." I'm glad I found out about this. WHile it may not be illegal, it is unethical and they are decieving a number of people. All I can say is Thank GOD I am not going to my second interviews with SJS or Capital Group, and I won't be going on my first interviews with GEOPAT or SEAM, or maybe I already did since you can never really tell what the hell is going on. It felt fishy from the start and I'm so glad I did my research. But most thanks goes to this Original Poster because you listing was the first I came across!

I dont believe you are an ex employee! I will repeat the facts I stated earlier 1.MISLEADING-You are not told anything about door to door sales until you come for the second interview and follow a leader around in the field. So many people get pissed off when they find out it is just another door to door sales job. The people that are not familiar with this type of business are suckered into it by them building a persons impulse. They say there is a management position and you will make $90 000-$120 000 in your first year. There is no management position and if there was how do you determine how much a persons makes if it is all based on how many people they recruit and if those people are willing to be bugging people selling coupons. BRAINWASHING MEETINGS-Every morning before heading into the field to bug people they force leaders to act goofy and excited with the intention of making the new people in the business think it is the best opportunity in the world. In the meetings they tell you about how much money they have and it is all about getting to where they are. Their only intention is to get you fired up to make money for them until you get tired of the business and quit or they fire you after finding some new people. CONTROL-Yes,that is a fact! When I worked there a group of people would go home after work together. They got paranoid and thought they were discussing their frustrations with the business. These people were told not to spend time with each other. Who in the world has the right to tell an adult who they spend time in their own free time?? Why would they be concerned?? It is all about control, keep them thinking it is the best opportunity in the world when it is one of the worst jobs to ever have. You ask any real ex employee about Christopher Colaluca and Mark Kernan. They will tell you the same thing. UNPROFESSIONAL!! There is no reason anyone should be disrespectful to employees .If an employee is incompetent you fire that person professionaly just like you hired them professionaly. You are talking about team players and The Capital Group is a bad team to join because of all the reasons stated above so you need to check your facts!!

This opinion is absurd! The Capital Group is a great company with great opportunities for those who are willing to be team players. I made lots of money and learned sales management from the inside out. I have since detached myself from the company to seek other opportunities in sales development. Next time, write with facts not frustration that you failed at the business.
